Sounds like either the switch relay or the inboard circuit breaker has gone bad.

SOURCE: no picture or sound, light comes on in the front and have to unplug tv to turn it off.

I had this exact problem on my Vizio 47" HDTV. I removed the speakers and all the screws on the back cover. Took the cover off and located the fuses on the largest circuit board. The are in the upper right hand corner of the board. There are 3 of them in a row labeled LF 1.5, LF 3.0 and LF 3.0. The are white in color with copper ends. I took a volt meter and measured continuity across all fuses individually and found the LF 1.5 to be blown. The guy at the electronics store sold me a barrel 1.5A fuse and told me to soldier it across the top of the blown fuse. It took an extra set of hands but the TV works perfectly.

SOURCE: Vizio shuts itself off

There may be some components failing in the power supply or one of the circuit boards that are causing too high a current pull.

I realize that this answer is very vague. Without doing proper diagnostics, it is impossible to guess at something like this.

Out of warranty repairs on these sets can be very expensive. I would suggest that if the set is going to be expensive to service, it would be best to replace it with a known brand name that offers an extended warranty with local service. You will pay more, but you will have dependability and better quality.

SOURCE: vizio 47" lcd no picture no sound has power

this could be one of two problem. first, check if you have back light. If you do then the problem is with the M/B. Second, if you don't have back light then the inverter is bad and needs to be replace.

I have a e422vle Vizio TV. The power board went bad, I ordered a new one and the Tv now is working but the remote doesn't work. Is the remote sensor on the power board?

Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It has details about how to check a remote control; by one among the post. Pull up older posts. If the remote control is found OK; check and replace the infra-red sensor inside the TV.

You will need a voltmeter to actually check the capcitors. More than likely it is a blown capacitor as that is one of the only components that is going to make an actual noise if it fails. Good luck.

Sounds like the power supply board has gone out. It can probably be replaced, but only by someone qualified to do so.

Vizio lcd flatpanel tv with dark background

If half screen is affected it will be either a board (LCD and Plasma have different names) but in those one board drives each side of the screen unit--worst case is the display panel itself which is fatal from a cost point of view.

The tv is having a problems with the board called T-Con board it is dying and the problems. That why the tv is not sustancening the tv pictures for those coded pictures pixels by the T-Con board to stay on to the tv LCD screen panel. This tv problems only causes by the tv T-Con board it is dying only if the tv problems came on to the tv by itself only.If these problems causes by u or an object by outer forces by hitting to the tv LCD screen panel itself. Now the tv LCD screen panel itself it is dying and the causes.Than the tv it is not repairable,tv now only can it to do a replacement of the tv whole LCD screen panel itself only. Not practical because the tv LCD screen panel are 90% important to the tv and the cost of the tv.If u replacing the tv LCD screen panel itself will cost the same as a new tv.The tv is under a year old,why don't u just call Vizio corp. and take ur tv warrenty repair.

My vizio 42 in lcd turns off when i press the rgb button on the remote. i am trying to hook up my laptop to the tv

Make sure you have the correct colours matching; R to R, B to B and G to G. I think the blue carries the sync signal. If the tv doesn't get the sync signal from the laptop (the laptop is off or thye cabling is mixed up) it will shut itself off.

I can't be sure if this is the cure but I have 50" vizio plasma which won't stay on if you select and unconnected input.
