SOURCE: Fan Noise on Dell Dimension 8100

All computer fans have a general design.  The name in front of "fan" really refers to the designation.  You'll see case fan, processor fan, CPU fan, cooling fan, etc.  In the case of CPU/Processor fan, some are sold with heatsinks (the metal block sitting on top of your CPU).

The first thing you want to do is make sure the fan is clean.  Chances are dust buildup is causing the excess noise.

If that's not the case and you're looking to replace the fan, then you first need to find out the size of the fan. General sizes(diameter X width in mm) are listed on this page:

http://www.svc.com/case-fans.html

Generally, you're looking for something that will match the size of what you're replacing & push enough air at a reasonable noise level to cool the heatsink/CPU.  You want to stay in the area of 30dBA max for noise.  You also want to see if it has a 3-pin or 4-pin connection.

For example, if you have an 80mm fan, I would suggest something like this:

http://www.svc.com/saf-b82-19.html

It's pretty quiet with good airflow.  Also, it has a 3-pin connection, but includes an adapter for a 4-pin connection.

SOURCE: Water cooling noise

Could be air in the system which you would need to bleed out. Either that or a faulty pump.

SOURCE: over heat cooling fan load noise remove and replace

A bearing more than likely has went bad causing your fan to stop properly cooling your unit. Replace with a compatible fan and you should be all set. Hope this helps.

Fan noise after a few minutes running.

Fans are typically a little noisey. If it's exceptionally loud or continues for a long time it may indicate the fan is no providing the proper cooling. Purchase a laptop cooling pad to place under the laptop while your useing it and make sure nothing is interfering with the airflow around the unit.

My computer is becoming really hot and noisy. After turning on the computer, everything is good (no noise). Once around 15 minutes passes by or I open up a lot of programs together, my computer starts...

Sounds like the fan is wearing out, as it heats up the fan needs to spin faster and if the bearings are wearing out it will start getting louder and it will also get hotter because the fan cannot keep up the heat being produced. You can replace the fan, most computer shops will carry replacements, also get a can of compressed air and give the inside of the computer a good cleaning. This will help keep things cooler as well. Also make sure that the air vents on the outside of the case are clear as well.

The fan is making a lot of noise. this has

Is the laptop dirty inside?

If it hasn't been cleaned out regularly, with a can of compressed air for computers, more than likely it is.

Laptops typically have a poor cooling design. For one, everything is crammed into a tiny box.
For two, there is a small duct, (Air Intake Duct), that draws air in.
For three, laptops typically just have 1 small fan.
For four, the Air Intake Duct is located on the bottom of a laptop, or on the side.
This is an excellent (?) area to draw foreign debris in. Another word for foreign debris, would be CRUD.

Hair, Food Crumbs, Lint, Dirt, Dust, and so on.

A laptop's cooling systems primary function is to keep the Processor at a certain temperature. If the processor becomes too HOT, it turns off. (BIOS turns it off)
NO Processor, No computer!

1.The excessive fan noise can be that the fan is spinning at top rate, trying to keep the processor cool. It's having a hard time doing that, because the fan cannot draw enough air in. (Clogged Cooling System with Crud)

2.The excessive fan noise could be that the fan's bearings are bad.

3.The excessive fan noise could be that the Processor is running at 100 percent, (100%), and the fan is running at full speed, in order to keep the processor cool.
Perhaps caused by a virus, or some sort of anti-virus program, or running more than one virus program. (Installed a new anti-virus program lately?)

Noisy fan

You need to replace the fan. Measure the fan you have now and buy one the same diameter. Then remove the old fan and put in the new fan.

peel back the sticker on the middle of the fan, and use a graphite based lubricant on the bushing.

Also there are smaller stick-on type fans that can be used. Normally for cooling chipsets.

My CPU is making lot of noise especially when I'm using programs like Adobe reader

The CPU wont make noise unless its frying. So its either your hard drives, cd drives, or your fans.
If its your fans i sugest buying newer "Cool Master" fans that are powerful but less noisy
