resetting the combination is only practical if the suitcase is open as the reset tab is located inside where it cannot be tampered with when locked.
if it is a set of dials lock a locksmith could help you.

You cannot reset the lock unless you know the combination. You would need someone to pick the lock, like a locksmith and then once it's open you can reset the lock with a new combination.

Another way is to pull apart the ends till you have tension on the tumblers. As you place tension try to turn the tumblers. As you feel each loose or tight tumbler is how you can find your combination. I open this type of combination lock like this all the time. First look for the tightest tumbler, turn it until it feels looser and next look or feel for the next tight tumbler. All the tumblers do not block the release at once. You are looking for the first tumbler to adjust, the tightest one, then the next, continuing until you find you have released all the tumblers. This has worked for me with any brand of inline tumbler release system out there. Good luck, usually takes me about 10-15 minutes to find the code. This method can be used on regular locks with a changeable combination as well. It will just take a little time to get to know how much tension to use as you go through each tumbler. Similar as to how you pick a regular lock system. Good luck, definitely doable.

1. Contact Masterlock.com and fill out the form, get it notarized and send it in for the combination to unlock it based on the S/N which is on the lock.(http://www.masterlock.com/faq/LostCombinations/). Good luck on this since Masterlock will end up finding something that will prevent them from giving you the combination. Its quite frustrating and NOT worth the trouble.

2. Go to home depot. Buy a 24in bolt cutter ($22) cut the stem of the lock. and replace with a new lock that you can buy from home depot for $ 29.00. If you have a key that is inside the lock box that you really need, You will now need to drill out the combinations piece by piece and the door will pop open or send the lock back to Masterlock. They will retrieve the key for you and send it back.

if you mean the button lock where the safe-dial is on screen - just plug it into the computer and iTunes cancels the lock
