All calculator use scientific notation if the result is too small or too large. Some, like the Casio FX9750G II, offer you two Normal displays, Norm1 and Norm2 that have different limits when numbers are converted to scientific notations.
Here is how to set one or the other.
In Run>Mat press SHIFT MODE (Setup). Scroll down or up to reach the display line. Press F3 to select Norm1 or Norm2.

WHAT IS THE E CODE

Does the E code look like 10.8372487489E12?

If so, the calculator is either set to scientific notation mode OR the result was an answer that was too big to display on the calculator, so it converted it to scientific notation. To convert from scientific notation back to regular notation, move the decimal to the right by the number of times after the E. In this case, the number after the E is 12, so we have to move the decimal to the right 12 times. In this case, I get the final answer as 10 837 248 748 900.

Good luck.

Any questions, let me know.

Remove scientific notation exponent

Press MODE then select "NORMAL" on the first line. Optionally, you can select the desired number of digits after the decimal point on the second line.

Be aware that if the magnitude of the result is too large or too small then the calculator will automatically switch to scientific notation no matter what settings you have.

How to I stop my sharp EL-531X calculator from rounding when converting from decimal to scientific notation?

You need to select the number of decimal places you would like, or if you would like the calculator to behave as normal. Press SET UP and select FSE (press 1) . You now have 5 options.
0: FIX means you can choose a fixed number of decimal places for every calculation.
1: SCI means scientific notation and choose the number of significant values you would like to deal with.
2: ENG means engineering and the power goes up in multiples of 3.
3: NORM1 and 4: NORM2 are the usual or normal settings on the calculator. Most school calculations will use NORM1 mode.

I cannot get the answer in decimal format. I have tried everything in the manual, and also online suggestions. Here's an example: Evaluate: (.2) with exponent of 4... the answer should be .0016,...

In the default NORM1 display mode, values whose magnitude are less than 0.01 are automatically displayed in scientific notation.

Press SHIFT MODE 8 2 to select the NORM2 display mode. In this mode, the calculator does not switch to scientific notation until the magnitude drops below 0.000000001 .

This is all described in the "Calculation Modes and Calculator Setup" section of the manual, beginning on page E-7.

You can't. If the magnitude of the number is less than .001, the calculator automatically switches to scientific notation. That's just the way the calculator works.

Anytime I try to multiply .001X.001, any decimal beginning with a zero, I get an error. For example, .001X.001=1 E-6...My mode is set in normal, and I reset it to default, what am I missing?

This is not an error. .001 multiplied by .001 is 1E-6.

If the absolute value of a number is less than .001, the calculator will always display it in scientific notation. 1E-6 is interpreted as 1 times 10 to the minus sixth power.
