Sorry first time posting. Does anyone have a picture of where the belt goes on a Sony ps-lx 430 turntable? Have read directions found on the net but doesn't make sense. Thank you

You need to remove the platter - it should pull straight off but it might take a little wiggling. Then the platter is turned upside down and the belt is placed on the inner ring that it easily fits on. Then you carefully set the platter back on the spindle, but leave the mat off.
Rotate the platter until you can see the motor pulley through one of the holes. Using something that won't cut the belt, pull it over the motor pulley. Now put the Mat back on and you're done!

Tip

How to change the belt on most turntables

Replacing the belt on any turntable requires removing the platter. There are various schemes to keep them on but most involve a "C" clip clipped in a groove just above the platter on the spindle. You may have to remove the rubber mat to access the clip. Most rubber mats are glued down but can be pried off with patience and some force with a 1" scraper. Once the mat and platter are removed the belt can be discarded and a new one installed. Replace the platter. There will be one or possibly two oblong holes in the platter. Using a flat screwdriver hold tension on the belt and rotate the platter to get the belt around the drive and continue with turning the platter until you are sure the belt is around the drive ring on the platter and the motor spindle. You can tell because the platter will have some resistance due to spinning the motor. Reassemble the mat. It can just be placed on the platter. Unless you are going to run it upside down, which wouldn't work, it won't fall off. You are done and the unit should work like a new one. If you haven't purchased a belt this website www.mcmelectronic.com has belts for most units and also a variety pack of different length belts which should have one which will fit.

Belt drive rubber

Remove the rubber mat. Underneath the mat, you will see holes on either side of the table. You should see the belt around the center of the platter, if it's any good. If it has fallen off, the belt has stretched beyond spec. If it's still on the platter(table), though on of the holes mentioned above, if you rotate the platter, you find find the motor pulley. Pull the belt from the platter center and slip it back over the motor pulley. For more information, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. Thank you.

My sony pslx250h turnable belt was ordered and i can't find the repair book to repair it.

Pretty simple fix. Remove the mat, remove the turntable, install new belt on bottom of turntable hub. Place turntable back onto spindle. rotate turntable so you can see motor pulley. Stretch the belt from turntable hub over motor pulley, replace mat, enjoy.

Turntable will not rotate when in "Phono" mode

I recently was given my Father's CR78CD and, assuming your unit is in working order, you turn on the turntable motor by lifting the tonearm off the post and moving it away from the turntable about one and a half to two inches. You should hear a soft click as the switch for the motor activates.

How do I attach the turntable belt to the Aiwa px e850

Lift the platter off the turntable. You can identify the motor spindle by using your fingers to turn the round shaft which rotates freely. Remove the rubber mat off the platter. Place the belt around the outside of the drum on the bottom of the platter. From the top of the platter, place your finger in one of the platter holes and tension the belt so it will not fall off or twist. Griping the platter trough the holes while keeping tension on the belt place the platter on the turntable aligning your finger with the belt to the motor spindle. Place the section of the belt on your finger over the motor spindle. Replace the rubber mat on the platter.

I had to order a belt for my turntable that was disinagrated so I dont know how to put the new one on. could you please either show me a picture of how it goes on or explain

First, remove the rubber mat (platter cover)
Next, there should be 2 oval shaped slots in the aluminum platter.
Carefully rotate platter until you can see the drive motor pulley through one of these slots. Lift straight upwards on platter to remove it. On the underneath side of the platter, there is a surface that is approximately half the diameter of the platter. Place the new belt around this surface, ensuring that it is not twisted.
Fun part.....Turn the platter right side up and insert index finger through on of the oval slots. Slip belt over finger between belt and platter "pulley" surface. Carefully reinstall platter with finger/belt slot lining up with drive motor pulley. Slip belt over drive motor pulley and remove finger, making sure the belt is not twisted. Now, manually rotate the platter to check for proper belt movement.....if all is well, reinstall rubber mat (platter cover) This concludes belt installation.

JVC L-A21 turn table belt installation

Lift the mat from the platter. Lift the platter off the spindle - it just pulls off upwards. Wrap the belt around the sub-platter underneath. If the belt is not stretched, it should stay there by friction as you replace the platter onto the spindle. Rotate the platter by hand until the motor pulley appears through the large hole on the front left hand side, and then gently pull the belt over the pulley, taking care not to twist it as you do so. Replace mat.
