MY 1998 CHRYSLER CONCORDE WANT START, WHEN TRYING TO CRANK IT UP, IT MAKES CLICKING NOISES, IVE BROUGHT A STARTER AND NEW BATTERY, BUT ITS STILL DOING THE SAME THING..PLEASE HELP ME

Assuming that the new starter and battery are not defective (one easily could be), the next thing to check for would be to verify that the engine is not seized up. Get a breaker bar wrench and fix it to a socket that is the size of the crankshaft pulley nut. Place the socket over the nut, and, facing the engine, attempt to rotate the crankshaft in a clock wise direction. If it turns, then the engine is not seized. If it won't turn at all, then next, remove all spark plugs and try to rotate the engine again. If it still won't rotate, you have serious internal engine issues. If it does rotate after removing the plugs, you may have had hydrolock, where gasoline fills the cylinders and won't allow the engine to rotate. If it rotates, then try to use the starter again briefly with the plug removed. Obviously it won't start, but if it rotates, you can put the plugs back in and try again, hopefully with success. If the engine is seized, unless the car itself is in mint condition, you're better off getting a new car than trying to repair this one just based on age.

I have a 1997 mitsubishi spyder gs 2.4 and it trys to start then quits trying if you turn the key off and back on it will try again and then quit trying again. The fuel pump is working I checked it .Can you...

you have to give it a pause of 10 - 15 seconds whenever you release the starter otherwise it may result in improper functioning and idle rotation of the starter.

Car has to be cranked more then once, than a scraping noise and then car starts.i'm scared whats the problem

the gear on the flywheel has worn. the engine stops in one of four spots in the rotation 'cause the cylinder pressure is building. That means the starter has not got the whole flywheel, but only a few teeth in four spots that is starts on every single time. these teeth wear out, then the starter motor cog cant turn the flywheel and you get the screech like you tried to change a stick shift without the clutch!
if you do have a stick shift, then you can park on a slight hill, and roll just a bit with the clutch half out, which will rotate the engine and give the starter motor fresh teeth to work on.
in short, yes, you need a mechanic.....

Is there a starter fuse on a 86 buick park ave

May be a starter fuse - but if blown, starter will not rotate engine. More likely a fuel starvation problem. Replace fuel filter in gas line - first choice. Next, have fuel pump pressure checked. If it has failed, you will get 4 -5 seconds of engine run before stopping.

2001 Dodge 4x4 diesel 6-speed. Replaced clutch and pressure plate, now the starter won't turn the engine over.. Tried turning it over with the harmonic balancer, and the output shaft on the x-fer case. No...

One problem pops into head when I think about your description of the problem. The bolts that hold the pressure plate to the flywheel may be too long, causing the engine block to interfere with the rotation of the flywheel.

Lawn Tractor Engine-Start Problems

Ed, I think that when all is said and done you will find that you have a defective STARTER MOTOR. If the BATTERY is at full Charge, and it takes a Battery Charger added to the Battery in order to get enough current to turn over and Start the Motor. I suspect the Starter Motor is defective.
I also have Sears Tractors with Briggs, three of them.
Also clean your Spark Plug when you service the Engine.
Good Luck!
