Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

When camera is turned on "PROTECTED CARD" comes

Take the memory card out of your camera and look at it. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Take you memory card off the camera and on the side of the card you should have a small lock symbol. Make sure this is set to unlock

Card locked but its not

Memory cards are funny things that can sometimes currupt for various reasons i suggest you just buy a new memory card.
Try to retrieve the pictures you can get on your computer before you dispose of the old one.

Good luck

Card locked! problem

If your camera uses and SD card. Take a look at the card. There will be a little switch on the side of the card. Move the switch to the unlocked postion, reinsert it in the camera and turn the camera on. It should fix your problem. Thanks for coming to FixYa.

CARD LOCKED

There should be a small toggle along the end side (it is tiny and easily missed, but it is there, I just checked my memory card / mine is 4GB SD card from Sony) that you can swtich to unlock and your images may come back that way.

Look for it this way, hold the card face down it should be on the back edge where you use your thumb or finger to push it into the slot on your camera.

Samsung digimax4010 memorycard locked cant take pictures

To fix this, remove the SD card from your camera. Look on the side and you will find a little switch. One end of the switch says locked the other end says unlocked. Move the switch from locked to unlocked. Replace it in your camera and turn it back on.
