I think you blue up a part on one of the system boards inside the tv. You should probably unplug it and call a tv repair tech. Or just buy a new one if its really old.

Power light but no picture or sound

Hi!
My name is Chris.
I have this Phillips Wide Screen TV that didn't have or come with a remote, so I had to go out and buy a universal remote for it today from a BIG W Store. I'm having some technical difficulties & problems with switching and turning it on, but as I use the universal remote to turn on the TV, I'm having a bit of a slight problem with it turning it on, Ok, Yes, it works and Powers on, but there is nothing showing or giving me the indication that there is no picture or sound showing up on this Wide Screen Phillips TV, But there is a little red & green light at the bottome right hand corner that keeps on flashing red when ever I use the universal remote to switch the power on. Is there a possibility, that i can get some help on here, to help me out with any suggestions, is to why I'm not getting any picture or sound showing up on this TV with this universal remote ? Is there anyway that i can maybe get some help with this to help me out with solving my issue with the Phillips Wide Screen TV ?

Screen went black smoke coming from back tv is 2007 according to back sticker still have sound

Smoke = overheating = big short = big failure of a part.
Unplug the tv immediately - you don't want t set your house on fire - and call a repaiman. Since the tv has been smoking then the damage will be extensive - a lot of parts, even entire boards, have been damaged. Te repair will be costly.

Slow to turn on Phillips flat screen tube big screen

That is a common issue with the last generation of the phillips big screens, the best answer for this is one that i got at a meeting with phillips service several years ago. On philips the tv will not show a picture till the tubes are balanced out, simular to sony, but in a phillips if the white balance is not correct the picture and sound will be muted till all three tubes have warmed up enough to produce a good white balance. As the set ages the tubes become weaker and this procesess takes longer.

Fire caused smoke on back side of screen

Yes it can, but not by any even moderately simple means. The screen itself is as fragile as 50" eggs. If you're dead set on doing it you're gonna need help, and not from little sister. I can only guess as to what your set looks like, but if it is anything like the older models, the screen is protected by clear plastic. Between those two is where your smoke is. IF and thats a big IF, its still the same, all you need to do is remove the screws in the top and bottom of the large braces that recieve the stand. from there you're likely going to have to unhook wires to speakers or the ambient lighting if your tv has it, but that's easy. Carefully lift out the screen with help, by the braces which should still be left screwed into the plastic and metal columns connected to the metal back of the screen. I DONT recommend setting the screen down anywhere unless you have a static free room with no lint. Just have person two use a real microfiber cloth to clean the insides of the screen protector, your call if you'd like to wipe the actual display, I don't know if it will cause it any harm or not. The problem is that by doing this you might be exchanging smoke for lint and fibers from the cloth. Reassemble and don't take your plasma camping anymore. Good Luck.

PHILLIPS BIG SCREEN TV IS BUTTERFLIED

Are the colors out of alignment and unable to converge back? If so its the convergence ICs need replacing. If the convergence isnt out of alignment you have whats called a pincushion problem. If you would like a link to where you can obtain the service manual for this model let me know.

Problems with my 61 inch phillips t.v.,need help a.s.a.p.

Can you explain more about what you mean by big then small? When the picture got small do you mean it shrunk down in size leaving a black screen around the perimeter? Or did it bow in from top bottom? If you van acurately describe what it was doing I may be able to point you into the right direction on diagnosing the problem.
