Question about Dell Inspiron M5030 Laptop
Find the small back-up battery inside (sometimes you have to take the entire laptop apart to do this, remove the battery is it's the clip type or cut one of the posts off to remove the power.
Reboot the laptop with battery off-line, shut power off and solder battery back onto board.
this may be tricky as you have to connect everything back up while the pieces are scattered. Be sure not to short anything out on bare metal like screws, tools, etc. I use placemats and tape.
some machines do not have to be booted back up, some will reset with the battery removed and cross the terminals for 5 seconds, some laptops require that you short the terminals out for 12 hours. If there is a supervisory password set with the CMOS password I'm not certain of the way, if any, to reset this.
Hope this helps.,
