Question about Panasonic Panafax UF-9000 All-In-One Laser Printer

1 Answer

How can I find the uf 9000 ip address from the printer controls? When I try to install the driver, it does not find the printer on our network and I don't know what IP address was assigned to it through DHCP.

I am the IT geek. We bought the printer from ebay and it apparently already has an ip address not on our subnet because my router doesn't see it. I want to reset it, but hey, thanks for being so helpful. Hopefully I can get a real answer on here instead of snarky sarcasm next time.

If you are the network supervisor you know or should be able to know the IP address of every device. If you are not the supervisor why would try to install anything on the network? You should talk to the IT geek who supervises the network.

Well thanks again but I downloaded that first. Unless I completely missed it, there's no where in the manual that tells you where to find and reset the IP address on the machine. We did not get a disk with it so I had to download the driver and installation package from Panasonic

When I run the installation and it scans my network, it does not come up with any Panasonic models so asks me to input the IP address of the printer I'm installing, which leads me to this issue.

SOURCE: DP-190 Network Printer

I succeeded in printing via network to the Panasonic Workio DP-190.  Here is a brief summary of what needed to be done...
* HP laptop w/ Windows XP SP2 installed * requires LPR support via "Print Services for Unix" to be installed from Windows Components (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb457002.aspx) * Installed using GDI printer driver (http://panasonic.co.jp/pcc/products/en/mfp/download/dp-190/list.html)
During the GDI installation I choose a 'Network printer' and the printer was already setup for proper IP addressing, etc...
I created a new printer port of type LPR, doing so required me to input the printer's IP address and a queue name -- the queue name was left blank.
Hope this helps, John

Dell 5100cn as a netwok printer via my LAN

Connect it to the router. It should hopefully be set to get an ip address from the router. On each computer that you want to print from you need to select Add Printer in the Printers section of Control Panel and select a "Network Printer". You should be able to either browse for it or put the ip address in (depends on the router, printer settings etc). It should then ask you for the drivers etc.

If stuck there is a comprehensive how to on the Dell website.
