My double oven , top oven, will not heat. Bottom oven works fine. What do I need to do. Diane Vogeler

Do you have an error code? Check continuity of lower and upper thermostat. Check the elements for continuity. You have two fuses, one on the back of the oven for the elements and one from the oven board, it will probably be in clear plastic. Worst case is the oven board is bad.

How do I fix a continuously running upper oven fan

Without knowing the make and model, this is a guess, the fans usually run for some time after switch off, to allow cooling I am guessing this carries on until you isolate the mains. If so you have a thermostat problem. It would be easier to de-fine if there were more information.

I used the self-cleaning feature and now my oven will not turn back on.

Hello,
Their is a high limit thermostat that has tripped,on older model and on some newer models it has a red button on it that can be pushed in to reset it.Other times once it goes out it must be replaced.
For the upper oven its behind the control panel, for the lower its behind the grill between upper and lower oven

I hope this helps you to understand why your oven wont heat,

I have thermador Masterpiece M28RM-1 double oven that they don't make any more, and for which they don't offer spare parts. I need a thermostat. Can I get one anywhere?

I had the same problem (M28RM-4).
1) This type of thermostat can still be taken apart, ie. it is not riveted like the newer ones. Take it apart and clean the contacts. It should work like new.
2) Both upper and lower ovens work off the same type thermostat. If for some reason #1 does not work, swap the relay part of the thermostat. If it still does not work, it is in the bimetal thermostat part and that part will need to be swapped with the upper oven.

The upper oven door is locked shut and will not release. All lights are off on the display panel and the oven does not respond when any setting are pushed. I have reset the circuit breaker several times...

im to assume that this happened while self cleaning, sonds as if you have had a high limit thermostat go bad adn has shut down oven function( depending on model there is also a fuse inline with the main control panel to protect it from the heat/ power surge, unit will need to be pulled out to acess fuse behind the unit

Upper oven bake coil stays on.

Stove will not turn offCHECK

Temperature Control Thermostat

If the oven won't turn off the oven thermostat is often the cause of the problem. The electrical contacts inside the oven thermostat can weld themselves together and then the oven won't turn off. If this happens, turn off power to the entire appliance at the household circuit breaker or fuse. The oven thermostat usually cannot be tested and must be replaced if defective.

Oven Control Board

The oven control board has a set of relays that turn on and off power to the bake and broil circuits according to the customer settings and sensor input. If the oven won't turn off it could be that one of the relays on the oven control board is shorted closed, providing voltage to the heating circuit. It can be dangerous if the oven won't turn off. Don't leave the oven unattended without turning off power to the oven.

Relay board:
Some ovens are equipped with a relay board. This circuit board has several relays which control the switching of electrical current to the oven heat source. If the oven won't turn off it may be that one or more of the relays on the relay board have failed. If this happens replace the relay board. The relays on the board are not sold separately.ALSO CHECK THE BAKE AND BROIL ELEMENT.

Lower oven not heating up properly

Go to Lakeland and buy the oven thermometer and the oven cleaner - the one that you brush on. Clean the thermostat sensor located at the top right rear of the oven - it should be bright chrome in colour. Ne need to take it out just brush the cleaner on to remove all the garbage on it, it may take several coats being careful not to damage the thin wire that comes from it. Once this is clean run the oven with the Lakeland thermometer and see how far it is out. Even at 20 degrees this may be acceptable to you as you can make allowances when using it. At least you will know what is going on to make an informed decision of whether of not to buy a new thermostat.
