It has happened to us. The problem is most likely the same. Over time there was a build up of a black substance that slowly clogged up the water flow that is used to wash out the conditioner tray. If you remove the tray completely you can probably see the clogged up holes at the top of the dispenser. Solution is to remove the top from the machine and dimantle and clean the powder/conditioner dispenser. Recommend to disconect power and water before doing this. Drawings are usually available on the bosch spares website if you need them. Good luck.

Hi, my haier washing machine hns1260tve wont take conditioner. It just stays in the drawer. Thanks Rob

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

2 posibilities - blocked conditioner tray or water not being directed into it.
1) The conditioner/softener tray needs a thorough clean,
paying particular attention to the sentences in BOLD ;-0)
-------------------------------------
Remove the complete drawer. To do this you will have to do one of the following-
  • Top catch- push down the lip/catch at the middle rear and pull the drawer out (that's how our Bosch one is removed)
  • release the catches underneath (our daughter's Indesit) or
  • lift upwards on the tray as it is coming out to clear the lip underneath.
Once out identify which tray is for the conditioner- the others are simply 'chutes' and open-ended.
It will normally have some sort of cover over it which you must remove to expose the little stuck up pipe/tube. On some models there is just a small individual cap over the tube. The tube is down which the conditioner and water should siphon. It is likely to be blocked by 'gunge'- a mix of powder and conditioner. The whole of the tray, particularly this pipe and the bit which fits over it, must be completely clean and clear for it to operate correctly. It is worthwhile checking fairly regularly.

2) If this does not work, pull out the dispenser drawer far enough to be able to just see the softener tray, select the (final?) rinse and check that water is entering the tray. If it isn't there is a fault with the water distribution and an engineer call is required ;-0(

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

My washing machine wont take in the fabric conditioner, why?

Ensure the compartment hasn't filled with water.
Remove the drawer that holds the conditioner and clean it in warm water, the conditioner is normally siphoned into the machine and the ducts get blocked with lumps of conditioner.

My bendix washing machine wont let in the conditioner to rinse,at the end of the wash the conditioner is still in tray

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

I would start by giving the conditioner/softener tray a thorough clean before suspecting something like a malfunctioning water valve.
Remove the complete drawer. To do this you will have to do one of the following-
  • push down the lip/catch at the middle rear and pull the drawer out (that's how our Bosch one is removed- and others)
  • release the catches underneath (our daughter's Indesit- and others) or

I hope this is your problem and solution!

Water staying in the conditioner tray. Machine works fine, washing powder goes into the machine, fabric conditioner not dispensing and water left in the tray at end of wash

You dont say which machine you have, but a lot of conditioner trays work by siphon action.

If at one end of the conditioner tray there is what looks like a closed off tube sticking up, this is the siphon. To remove it, it should just pull off. Check the tube is clean inside and out with no residues left from the conditioner. Also check the tube sticking up from the base of the conditioner tray - this should also be nice and clean, and should be clear of any obstructions. May be worth poking something like a cocktail stick down it just to make sure it's clear. Then push the closed off tube back on. The siphon action can be checked by pouring water into the conditroner tray - as the tray gets close to full the siphon action should kick in and then empy the tray.

Hope this is of some help.
