You most likely have a bad condensor fan motor. It is not cooling the compressor and therefor the heat is transferring to the yodel loop that is located in that middle mullion.

SOURCE: my door rubber gasket ripped on front loading

Yes he can replace it himself. Just write down the name, model, serial, and product number to take when you purchase one. You may even have the manual that has the part number for the door gasket. Before you install the new gasket, soak it in a tub of hot water which will make it much more easier to install, for about 1 and 1/2 hours. Good Luck.

Inside middle edge where the doors meet is getting very hot

some heat in this area is normal,if its very hot, then check and make sure the condenser fan is operating in the lower rear area by the compressor,a clue to this is if your temps are varying in the unit as this fan cools the condenser coil that help cool the compressor,if the compressor gets too hot it will shut down to protect itself from burning out

Hot on middle bar between doors. Both rubber gaskets are hot too. seems to be working but running hard and making noise. Its making ice and water.

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. If it is hot to the touch it is either because the condenser fan failed or the condenser is dirty.Check the fan in back of the unit make sure it runs when the compressor is on. If it doesn't run with the compressor replace it. If it does then you need to clean the back vents in the cardboard and under the front of the unit. One of these will correct your issue. This area should be warm at times just not hot. It prevents moisture.

Panel between doors is hot

Many models of refrigerators have a heating element around where the gasket seals to the fridge. This is to prevent ice buildup around the doors that would prevent the doors from closing all the way.
If you haven't noticed any other problems with the cooling of your unit, you're refrigerator is running exactly the way it was designed.

How to change door seal

Replacing the door seal on most dishwashers is very simple. Just follow these steps:

1. Pull the old door seal from the groove around the wash tub facing. Take note of which surface area of the gasket is inserted in the groove and which surface is facing the door. It may not seal properly if you install the gasket the wrong way.

2. Clean the area really well to ensure there are no food debris or soap deposits. Also clean the inner door area where the door meets the gasket. You need a clean surface for the best results.

3. Locate the center mark of the new gasket. This will be a small paint spot or small groove on the gasket (this surface is the side of the gasket that will be inserted in the groove around the tub facing). If there is no center mark, fold the gasket in half and mark the location with some chalk, or hold with your fingers.

4. Locate the top center part of the wash tub facing and align the center mark of the door gasket at that point. Begin pushing the gasket into the groove with your hands and work your way around and down along each side.

5. Make sure the gasket is inserted all the way around the tub facing to the point where it meets the wash tub bottom. You can pull the gasket out and readjust as necessary.

This repair should take you about 30 minutes or less to complete. Its simple and requires no tools. The door will be tough the shut for a while until the gasket compresses and takes the door shape. Do not slam the door if it becomes difficult to shut. Simply close the door and the push firmly at the point just above the door latch until the latch clicks. Slamming the door can damage the control panel components, the door latch and/or the hinges.

If you have questions, or require additional assistance, please post back with a complete model number so that I may be able to provide you with better service. hope this helps you.

Refrigerator door is not sealing properly

If a portion of the seal is slightly away from the door , use a hairdryer to soften the rubber , and it will pull itself to the door . Let it cool before opening , so the gasket will form itself . Go slowly , a hair dryer doesn't get hot enough to burn the rubber .
