As it is not always sometimes only. this might be due to over oscillation in horz. stage.means more eht. it might be due to 1 power supply seems to be more then normal. 2 horizontal frequrncy not tunned properly if any preset is there. 3 loose contact in hor. section 4 some times it is due to connecting cable from monitor to computer.

Power light blinks yellow and then green, won't display any picture. just black

there could be a few issues here.

1. backlight may have gone out how you can check:

Take a flash light to the display if you see something then its your back light,

2. Power supply inside the unit, unplug the unit take the back off then uncover the shoud that covers the power supply and check for bulging capacitors if you have bad capacitors this can happend as well.

3. check the monitor with another computer and so forth.

Ok i start with the worse to the least cause of your issue, i hope this information does help please do make sure you leave your ratings for your advice before you leave.

Monitor restarting randomly

Rarely does a monitor go out due to drivers. Try another monitor and verify that it isn't the computer (it isn't). If the power light goes out it is the power supply (usually inside) the monitor. If the light stays on, it will most likely be the backlight power unit. Browse the internet for the model and parts. Newer units are difficult to find.

IBM MONITOR ON SCREEN DISPLAY

This is a problem in the monitor itself. The computer has absolutely no control over the On Screen Display. Most likely the button that controls contrast is stuck. You might try blasting the button with canned air. Sounds like it might be time to buy a new or used monitor.

Funny monitor problem

If I were you I would invest in a new video display card. Sounds your card is intermittant, because the chances of a tube type display and a TFT display having the same problem is slim to none. LOL Good Luck Please dont forget to rate this thread
