Insert your USB drive in the appropriate USB slot in your computer.
If the Autoplay dialog box appears, select "Take No Action" and click the "OK" button.
Launch your anti-virus program, such as AVG Antivirus or Anti Malware.
Select the USB drive for the program to scan.
Click the "Start Scan" button or option.
Open the scan history for the USB drive when the scan is complete to see a list of viruses and warnings identified by the antivirus software.
If desired, select the options to "Heal All Infected Files" or "Move the Infected Files to the Virus Vault" to ensure these files are quarantined from your system.
Highlight each infected file in the scan history.
Write down the file name of each infected file identified on the USB drive.
Minimize the application's window.
Select "Run" from the Windows "Start" menu. In the Run window, type "e:/" at the command prompt to switch to your USB drive (or type the drive letter for your USB drive).
Press the Enter key.
Type "attrib -s -h -r -a *.*" at the command prompt to remove the system, hidden, read-only and archive file attributes.
Press the Enter key.
Type "del ####.+++" where "####" is the file name of the infected file and "+++" is the file extension, at the command prompt line.
Press the Enter key.
For example, "del terriblevirus.exe" will specifically delete the Terrible Virus executable file. Repeat for each infected file on your list identified in Step 4.
Close the command prompt window; that is, exit the Run utility.
Maximize the window for your anti-virus program (which is still open) and repeat Steps 2 to 7 until no virus is detected on your USB drive.
Exit the anti-virus application.

or Click start click on my computer you should see your usb drive right click then select format.
another way is to control panel administrative tools computer management disk management Right Click on your drive select format

Hi,

As all your pen drive are getting affected by auto.inf virus your PC contains that virus.

Please scan your PC with proper anti virus and clear all your drives in PC.Then insert the pen drive and scan and remove that virus.

The intensity of affecting the pen drive depends on the virus.Hi no virus damage the usb physically.

Please do the above steps and you wont get it again.

Thanx

To remove virus from pen drive

Hi,
When you plug in your pen drive, don't open the pen drive.
You can see an secondary storage device icon in your 'My Computer'.
Right click the pen drive and scan for viruses.
If you really have virus then the virus, the antivirus agent will show you the virus.
You can kill/delete the virus.
You won't lose any of your data.
( OR)
I have one more option,
If you have linux(Linux Ubuntu, Suse Linux,...) installed in your system, you can login to Linux and
plug in your pen drive, you can delete the virus directly, by opening the pen drive.
Here also you won't lose any of your data.

Cheers...!!!

Kingston 4gb not detected

Hi,
I dont think this problem is due to the pen drive. It may be more due to the system. Check the driver of the system. This may even happen if the system is affected by virus. So try if your pen drive is getting detected in other computers. If yes, then there may be virus infectiond in your pen drive. So run a virus scan and it may help.

Thanks.

Toshiba 2 gig pen drive trans memory will not work on windows xp. No software came with drive.

You will need to locate and intall Windows XP "Mass Storage Device" drivers provided by Microsoft. Although it's a rarity when they are not already installed along with windows. I'd guess there is a deeper problem that I can't finger due to a lack of information. Find those drivers and go from there.
