Replace rubber seal on my zanussi washing maching

What is the trick to replacing a rubber seal on my washing machine? It has a plastic clip fixing the seal on the outside and a metal spring fixing it on the inside. Do I need to remove any parts first to fit the seal, I tried without and it seem to me that you need 4 hands to hold things in place!! Thanks for any assistance

Found it impossible. After 30min I tried the washing up liquid trick and I got the rubber seal on in 1 min. Getting the spring on was another story, but managed in the end.

Well it is a lot easier with 4 hands, i have fitted plenty and still find it easier with help although it can be done with one person, undo the clip on the outside of the machine round the door rim, and the other end of the door seal is a thin spring band, this just pulls off with the door seal, fitting is a reversal of removal, locate the lip into the drum outer lip, then (yes with 4 hands) stretch and fit the spring, it does fit, (it came off remember), then fit the front lip and the wire band at the front, check for correct fit and leaks before running machine properly best of luck, if i have helped please rate me

sorry i forgot to explain, work on the door seal through the doorway, you do not need to remove the lid etc, just open the door,

remove plug from power supply and work safe

Zanussi fjr1454w door seal change.

with both clips,< locking rings > removed seal it is removable by just working it off the drum slowly,< there is overflow tube in front bottom side to disconnect also>. It is very important when installing new one that you put it in the same positiont as old one and lock rings go on same as well.

How do I replace the door seal on my ZWF1421W washing machine

Unplug the machine first! Open the door and look around th edge of the seal. You will see a plastic clip, where the two ends engage (like crocodile teeth), prise it out toward you with a flatbladed screwdriver. Unpeel the seal frm around the door. Hold the top of the seal inside where it is attached to the drum and lift it slightly, then just pull it off. You will see it is held on with a big circular spring. Getting the new seal on is a pain. It must lip onto the plastic outer drum and will take patience to feed it on, not to say sore fingers! Once on, fold it intowards the drum and then you have to stretch the spring back onto the seal...more sore fingers. Maybe someone can hold it while you feed it aound (make sure also you have fitted the seal the right way up!). Finally, attach the outer lip onto the lip of the machine and reattach the outer plastic clip. Good luck!!!!!!!!

Zanussi washing machine.

switch off
remove plastic clamp that holds seal to cabinet and peel seal off cabinet.
the inside of the seal is held onto the tub with a circular spring. push seal down (needs a bit of force), pull outwards and seal will come away from tub.

lubricate the slot in the seal that fits onto the rim of the tub with washing up fluid.
starting at the top, push the first little bit of the slot in the seal onto the rim of the tub.#
working in both directions, push the slot onto the rim until completely on. this is a knack so be patient.
the circular spring fits into a slot on the outside of the seal. this is quite difficult to get into place and extra pair of hands will help.
fit seal onto cabinet - this is easy - and refit plastic clamp
test for leaks on wash cycle as water level is higher

Fitting a new door seal

unplug machine. Pull off retainer clip from the front , with both hands inside push up the seal untill its free. Then with the new seal apply washing up liquid to the gap on the seal. And fit this is fiddly. Then pull the spring you removed to loosen abit and with a screw driver to keep it in place throught the door lock thats why youve unpluged it. strech the spring around. the ease on the front part of the seal and replace the clip. put on a wool wash to check for leaks. appliance doctor
