My company of heroes patch wont work

Downloading game patches can Be aRight pain in the (FOOT) if your not careful
Ive had many experiences downloading patches for many various games & have had the same problem esp. downloading batlefield 2/BF 2412 patches & its various mods.

First of all & i know it sounds long winded
Get your self onto the game manifactuer site & check out ALL the patces that are availible for download For your game.
regadless of what patch your on at the moment. Do this to check & verify your patch you want.
(there are many patches for various games as you know.
Some are Full patches that are Big ???mb downloads that can take Hours at worst & some are quite small say about 40-80mb
I prefer to download the bigest all in 1 patch & not thoses incremental (Small) up date patches
Ok it take much longer to download & is infact a waste of time even if i only want a small update BUT now & again you might find its worth it. (its your choice)
Now.
I think (correct me if im wrong) you have a bad installment of a patch or youve tried to download a dogey patch
Ending in a currupt download or a download (JUST NOT HAPPENING)
This usually happens when either of two things have happened
1 The server is busy & there are many people trying to download from the same site.
IT doesnt have to be the same patch/program that others are downloading Just being on the same site.
Obvioulsy this slows up downloads tremendously.
& Your connection is being held up (slow download)
To get round these problems do the following & you should end up with a have decent chance.
Firstly
Grab yourself one of my favourite freebie progs
Google search for Ashampoo3
Download it into a folder on your desk top
its only a 10 day trial program but its good enough for what you want if for.
Run it & clean your registry
Now using the same prog Tune your internet connection.
If you want you can use ashampoo3 for anything else you might want to clean or tune but as long as youve done these ive mentioned thats good enough.
Ok.
Pick a time convienient for you But Bearing in mind it as goto be a quite'ish time for the server your downloading from. Early am or very late pm is ideal.
Before you download from your prefered site, its best to do a google search for this particular patch & come up with a couple of sites you can download from(write em download or save them to favouites ready for your back up plan if needed.

I copied a friends folder from a DIFFERENT OS (XP to VISTA 64 ULTIMATE) and the error no longer comes up. It is a corrupt file and if you need to fix it get it from a working version of the game.
