How to connect to Actiontec GT 701-WG

I use Qwest DSL using an Actiontec GT701-WG modem. The modem is connected in one room and the PS3 is in the other. How can I connect the two wirelessly? I am totally ignorant about doing this. There is an antenna on the modem. I do not have any way to connect hte PS3 to an ethernet plug in my livingroom where it is set up so I am depending upon doing it wirelessly.

Wot error is 80710723????

You have a network/router error. First go to settings, then Network settings, then internet connection settings. If you have a wired connection connection 1 - Custom, then manual settings, then auto detect, then automatic, then Do not set, then manual, DNS1 : , DNS2 :, then auto, then do not use, then enable.
and if neither of these works then try turning off your modem for a few minutes and restarting your ps3 =)

A need help

you can set your playstation 3 online by two ways, 1- by a wired connection, and 2- Wireless,

1-Wired Connection: Plug an ethernet cable from your highspeed modem to the back ethernet input on your ps3 system, and follow on your ps3: Network Connection > Internet Connection Settings > Easy > Wired Connection. and follow steps
2- Wireless Connection: You must have a Router connecting ethernet cable from your intenet modem to the router, and follow on your ps3: Network Connection > Internet Connection Settings > Easy > Wireless Connection and follow steps,

hope this helped you on setting up your ps3 connection :)

How can I connect my ps3 to my computer modem?

Here is a general guide I wrote. For Vista, however, I think you will have to go to the sharing tab instead of the advanced tab when you are browsing the properties of a connection...
1. Get a CAT5 or CAT6 crossover cable. The cable that came with the PS3 is a normal Ethernet cable, therefore it cannot be used for this operation.
2. Make sure you have two sources for network communication. For example, you can have 2 ethernet ports on your computer, or you can have a wireless card and a Ethernet port etc. It helps to draw out a connection blueprint such as this:
DSL Modem > CAT5 cable > Network Card 1 > Computer > Network Card 2 > CAT5 Crossover cable > PS3
3. Connect your computer to the modem and verify that you have an Internet connection. Then, click on Start, go to settings, control panel. Double click on Network Connections, and identify the connection to your modem (Network card 1).
4. Right click on the modem connection, and choose properties. Next, click on the advanced tab (Sharing tab for Vista users), and check the “allow other users to connect…” checkbox. After the checkbox is checked, click on the “Home networking connection” drop down box and select the name of the second network connection. Click OK and exit the properties window.
5. Finally, connect the CAT5 crossover cable from the second network adapter of the computer to the PS3, and voila, your Internet connection is now routed to your PS3. Please be aware that your computer must be on in order for your PS3 to stay online. In the long run, a router may be a much better device to use than your computer, since it consumes only a fraction of the electricity than your computer does.

Connecting my ps3 with a wireless modem

ok you will need a ethernet cable connected from your pc/laptop to your ps3
1st you will need to change sharing settings on your o2 modem
to do this goto manage network connection in there right click on the o2 mobile connection go down to properties go in to properties in there go to sharing and allow other users to use this connection.
2nd when setting up the ps3 you need to change one setting.
on the ps3 go to network settings go dowm to internet connection settings
select costom >wired connection >auto detect> ip adress = automatic >
dhcp = do not set > dsn = automatic > mtu = manual set this to 1420 >proxy sever = do not use > upnp = enable . that it just test your connection .this works good for me wit o2 the only setting changed was the mtu any thing between 1400 to 1450 will work fine ps add lostxbox as friend in psn

Invite by friends

it could be your router... can you connect your ps3 directly to your internet connection??ie ) modem like cable modem or DSL.

If it works then your router is not allowing whats called uPNP enabled service... this service opens ports automatically when called upon by certain programs... ie) ps3 connecting to a game.

check that out and let me know

Can't connect ps3 internet

Try entering the WAP code or whatever security you have correctly. If it still refuses to work try plugging in your brain by sticking your index finger and middle finger in the socket.
