I need audio driver for Sony Viao VGN-SZ430N win XP

    I have already been to the site and downloaded the drivers for Win XP for the particular model. Even after that the sound car has not been installed. I get the question mark for them in the device manager. Please give me some alternative

I had the same proble... and was SOLVED:

1-Download the propiate Audio driver from the VGN-SZ430N XP Support driver
2-Download Legroom Universal Extractor. Install the software.
3-Extract the driver using Univeral Extractor.
4-Browse through the extracted folder: TEMPEXEFOLDER; and then run the "setup" file from there.
4-It will install this way (you will see a quick splash screen of the Audio driver brand).

Drivers are available on the sony website. www.esupport.sony.com

Enter your model number vgn-sz430n and click on the driver button that appears in right-side window. I found them there.

    ok, that is helpful info on your problem. First, note where you downloaded the audio driver. Then remove the driver that is presently installed. You should be able to do that through the device manager window. Then reboot your computer. It should "find" your card and want to install a driver when you reboot. Then choose the one you downloaded and install. You may need to reboot after this as well. If you still get a yellow exclamation point, you may have a hardware problem with your sound card which is not a cheap fix. Good luck.

PROBLAM WITH AUDIO DEVICE
If your audio is not working, it could have a faulty audio chip ot the audio driver was not installed. Try installing the audio driver.
You can download drivers from the Sony WEB site.
Select your model notebook and the Windows XP or Vista drivers you require. Use this link.

Hi, used to have vista bus. changed it for xp
need to used XP 3rd Party Driver. In XP go to conrol panel>system>Hardware>Device Manager
under audio you shoudl see yellow circle> right click to properties and under details tab will be the Device ID.. you can google this ID to get the correct driver for WinXP.. keep me posted

Optical drive sony viao vgn fs840/w won't register
try downloading the VIAO update tool

this will ensure you have the latest software + drivers for your system.

problems with CD drives tend to be problems with the IDE drivers, so it may be a good idea to download the latest Chipset drivers either directly from sony (or using the tool above)
or downloading from the intel website
