Question about Panasonic TH-42PX600U 42 in. Plasma HDTV
Want to remove pedestal stand and mount tv on wall. Have removed the actual stand but need to remove the circular collar and the two flat metal pieces that the top side of the collar fits into. The two flat metal pieces stick out away from the back bottom of the tv and does not allow the tv to fit "flat" against the wall below the wall mount. How do you remove the two flat metal pieces. It appears not all of the screws are easily accessable.

The screw holes are metric. The set is supplied with M5x25 screws to attach the pedestal, so the wall mount screws will be in that same range.

SOURCE: removal of tv stand
The stand is usually held in by 4 Philips scres on the rear of the TV.
The stand itself has 2 "Arms" that point upwards, about 4 inches, they go up into the base of the TV, screws then go in from the rear of the set, low down, to secure the legs in place.
The stand, swivel mechanism and "arms" all stay together.
Good Luck, I hope it helps.

Place the TV on a flat bed preferably your mattress and look for the base mountings. The lock and base mount can be slid off and you can use a good wall mount that will support the weight to be fitted.

1) Carefully lay the front of the unit face down on a flat, cushioned surface such as a quilt or blanket. Leave the stand protruding over the edge of the surface.
Extreme care should always be used when removing the pedestal stand to avoid damage to the LCD panel.
2) Remove the jack pack cover on the back of the TV to expose the pedestal stand screws. The jack pack cover can be removed without tools.
3) Remove the five screws shown in the diagram below. This will allow removal of the pedestal stand.
4) Once you have removed all five screws holding the pedestal stand in place, remove the pedestal stand from the TV by sliding the pedestal stand a way from the TV (Remorve 5, 4mm or 5/32" Allen Bolts from back of TV.)
