Capacitor has blown you will easily find the fault when you take of the back and look and look at the power board it will be the one with the top round shaped or the one with a brown stain on the board around it. make sure you don't touch the board for around 10 minutes after the power has been turn'd off as this type of fault will leave volts in other parts of the board.

SOURCE: why does my 52 rca tv keep turning itself off and making a hiss?

Unplug the tv, take off the back cover and feel the top of 3 capacitors. On my d52w20, CP150 (rated at 2200uf 16V) was blown and the top was bulged out. You should also check CP120 and CP114 to see if either are blown. I don't have a clear picture of where it's located, but I have a picture of what you should see after you take off the back cover.

http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii209/fillmore85welder/KodakMoment003-1.jpg

In the middle of the picture you see an aluminum heatsink in the shape of a 'C' with the opening facing away from you. That is where CP150 is located. CP120 and CP114 should be located nearby, but if you can feel a bulge on any of the tops of those 3 capacitors replacing them should fix your problem. Replace the existing capacitors with a higher voltage rating of either 25v or 35v.

"4 capacitors on the power/deflection board. CP110 220uf 200v. CP120 220uf 35 Volts. CP114 220uf 35 volts. CP150 2200 16 volt. also check entire delfection board for cold solder especially around flyback. bad connections here can cause problems like some of the fp fuses blowing and cutting off convergence supply"

SOURCE: 52" RCA big screen tv turns on and few seconds turns off by itsel

if you heard a hissing or like static sound your board probably has a hole in it now. the board on the left side with the flyback fransformer. the hole is from where a prong has come loose an is arking over an it burns the board the ark is the sound you heard.

When power it'll blink three times and shuts off

It is probably the power board. When the capacitors on the board fail they can make a hissing noise. If you look at the board and the small cylindrical things on the board ( which are the capacitors) are bulged on top instead of flat this indicates a failed capacitor. The board should then be replaced. Hope this helps.

Please help! My stupid cat peed on my tv and it made this hissing loud sound and shut off! when I try to turn it on the button turns green three times and it makes this clicking sound? I paid 1,000 for...

More than likely, someone short circuited inside the TV.

The short term solution is to take it to a TV repair person (or in this case have them come to you).

The long term solution is to get a dog and get rid of the cat. The dog will be more loving, won't cause anybody to have an allergy attack when the visit you and will stay off of the TV. ;)

When I turn on the tv, it makes a sparkly sound and shuts off.

You probably have a high voltage failure causing the TV to sense the overload and shut off. There is about 30,000 volt required to light your picture tube focus the picture. If there is a failure anywhere in this circuit you will get the hissing noise and occasionally an ozone smell. I recommend you contact a TV serviceman to diagnose and repair this problem.

The T.V. has no lamp, it has 3 guns red, blue,& green. Unplug the lead that goes to the high voltage splitter(make sure t.v. is unplug). Then turn the t.v. back on if you hear the H.V. lead making a hissing sound continuously most likely the h.v. block needs to be replaced. Follow the lead from the flyback to the h.v. splitter, this will be the lead that unplugs at the splitter.
