Question about Samsung HCM4215W 42" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

White tint/haze Not sure exactly how to describe the problem I'm having with my tv. It's kind of like a white haze on the entire screen. All three lamps seem to be working properly. One piece of information that might help diagnose the problem is that when I attempt to utilize the Perfect Focus feature, it gives me the following message at the top of the screen "No Sensor Data." Please let me know if you have an idea on what the problem is exactly. Thanks

Thanks for the help, I looked at how much it might cost to have a technician fix the television and I don't want to pour that much into the tv.

Check any/ all pico fuses in power supply. PVAT! Look for evidence of CRT coolant leak. Since Perfect Focus is a function of convergence, you might consider replacing convergence IC's,then perform alignment in servicer mode, then finish w/Perfect Focus.

I have a phillips rear projection tv model no 55PP8620/79. Its showing a a red haze and poor picture quality. How do I fix this?

If the red haze is not convergence---that requires parts.

The set has three picture tubes---with set unplugged and back cover removed clean the three large lens that are topside---as for the red haze a quick way to know what is wrong is with set on turn the color to zero----what color is the screen? Should be black and white--if red to some degree tracking or screen controls may need adjusting inside the set---Yellow picture in that situation is a different issue.

This will depend on the brand, model, cable connection type and OS of the laptop. Most have a color control which you can adjust.

hi, symptom is caused by mis-adjusted focus, theres mechanical adjustment on lenses, and theres electrical on focus block, if tv was recently moved I would guess it`s mechanical, I strongly recommend you get a tech to do this, good luck video-tek.

Blue tint on rear projection tv

If this is a crts model , then one of the crts had blown, if it is a lamp rear projection, then it is a fault on the video circuit.

Green tint I can't seem to fix

Hopefully someone on here has a manual and can tell you exactly where the tint controls are. Also need to try adjusting the color level, turn it clear down so you have a black and white picture.
Is the picture still green over the screen with the color control
set clear down to black and white? If it does, you might
have an issue with the green gun going out or problem in the
circuitry to it.

By the way, the best way to adjust the picture settings on a
tv are to first turn the color control clear down, then adjust
brightness and contrast for best black and white picture, then
bring up the color level to where it should be and adjust the
tint for best red/green ratio.
