Video drivers

It either has an Nvidea or a SIS video card you need find out which generic driver loaded so you know which manufacture website to go to to get the Win7 driver. You can as well type dxdiag in the windows file search window and it will display that information if you dont know how to get to your device manager.

Gateway 505GR update bios to have NX?

Hi,

Do not upgrade to windows 8, with this computer.

If you wish to use windows 8, please purchase a newer computer.

You will only cause headache for yourself and other people by attempting to run windows 8 on this old computer.

Thank you.

P5PE-VM with Win7 has no display on PCI video cards-EVGA 2600 or EVGA gt 220. Both cards ran fine with Win XP. What do I need to do?

Hello here is the mainboards homepage:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5PEVM/#download

Are you running 32 or 64 bit system ???

Make sure the video driver supports windows 7, 32 or 64 bit.

The video card can sure run fine on windows xp but not in windows 7 as it is a totaly different system.

The mainboard has a 1 x AGP 8X slot.

So now you maybe has to find a video card that supports windows 7

Try also to download a manual.

Good luck

Upgraded my pc to win 7 and on pinnacle's advice bought and installed studio 12, I did have studio 10 before. 500 pci card not shown in devices and studio 12 says can't open 500 file

Did your system pass the satisfaction test of Win7

display driver and card may not be ok for operating Win7...if it's 1 on the satisfation level then the display card is not good enough to work in Win7
So Pinnacle Studio may not work....
Thanks

Yes and No. Let me explain. You have taken an older board that worked with XP and tried to make it work in Win7 (which is not supported by the board). Add in your graphics card switch, and you have a real mess.

You can upgrade your motherboard (for one that is compatible with Win7 - (ie. a brand new model with Win7 certification) and use a graphics card that is also Win7 compatible, or

Gateway 505GR not showing LAN line for internet

assuming it's XP,right click my computer>properties>hardware tab>device manager, then look down list for network adapters, if its there click the '+' sign, then right click on the network adapter and select uninstall.

Restart pc and the network card will be found and the driver automatically installed.

It should now be in network connections, if not reply back
