I Need a driver for my matshita ujda764, it is lost and I can't load it off my dvd rom because it's not working without the driver. I am running windows XP

- I tried removing and installing the drive, I even took the one out of my wife s laptop, same unit. I still come up witha code 39 when trying to trouble shoot it.Thank You for you help.

just take out the drive and re seat it it does not need any driver nor provided by vendor ,
if drive is ok it will work if not may be lens dirty try cleaning it as follows
open the dvd tray u can see that shiny eye like thing try cleaning th lens gently in round movement with a tissue paper or very soft cloth used to clean lcd screens see if it works ,
get back to me i will suggest u something after all this ok!

If the drive is showing an error (or is missing) in device manager, do the following:
Start Registry Editor (Start, Run and type in regedit then click O.K)
Locate the UpperFilters value under the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click OK.
Locate the LowerFilters value under the same key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click OK.
Quit Registry Editor.
Start Registry Editor (Start, Run and type in regedit then click O.K)
