Question about Televison & Video
I have a Comcast Xfinity universal remote and I have programmed it to the correct code for my Philips FW-P78 stereo system and I can turn the power off on the system. However, I cannot turn the power back on. It seems you have to press the AUX button on the stereo system in order to power it on fully to the point that it works and I have not found any buttons on the remote that will substitute this function. Is there any way around this or to solve this problem?
Never expect all the buttons on a universal remote control will work, as it meant for. What you can do is, to check an other code to your set, and set it up with the remote control. And an other one. In this way, check all the codes, and choose one code, which give you maximum functionality. That's all. If you wish to get more details, check this link. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Selecting the view option, either to Mosaic / Time slide, can be selected by the drop-down list, at the top left of the display window, will make surf easy. You can also do a search, by type in the brand name/model number/IC used, in the search box at the top right of the display window.

Programming a Device using Code Search:
Posted on Jan 02, 2008
Thisis the user's manual for a Phillips remote control. There is a list ofcodes in it. They should be rather universal. There's also instructionsas to how to program it. I believe that there is a way to program itwithout using the codes.
Programming with Code Search
1. Manually turn on the device (TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled.
2. Press and hold Code Search button until the red indicator stays on. Release the Code Search button.
3. Press and release the desired mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blink, then stays lit.
4.Press the Channel Up button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until thedevice could be controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks, then stays lit. If you accidentally overshoot the code required, pressthe Channel Down button to backtrack through the library until thedevice changes channel. Pressing Channel Up changes direction toforward again. Press and release the Mute button to install the code.
Hope this helps :)
