Why is my Bissell vacuum motor so loud?

A loud or vibrating motor might mean you have a broken fan.

Bissell ProHeat Turbo Deep Cleaner Upright Steam is make a loud noise please help

Check the underside where the drive belt comes off the electric motor. Maybe something got wound up on the motor pulley if you are lucky.
If you aren't lucky it could be the bearing is out and the motor is just screaming and overheating...soon to seize up
If you do need a new motor, there are some repair videos on YouTube:

The brush won't move, I replaced the belt and it makes loud noise.

  • I would take the bottom off again and again try to roll it manually and if it wont turn it could be the roller brush or the little motor that runs it. Take the belt off the roller and if it turns freely then it will be the little motor that drives it . To make double sure try to turn the little steel shaft that the belt goes on and if it is really hard to turn it is the motor. The motor can be replaced with out too much trouble it is a few wires and a few screws. They are all a little bit different inside so by just looking at it and finding where it is secured to the body of the unit you will be able to find all the screws and the wires are visible without looking.
  • If the machine is under warranty take it in for a free repair.....if not consult your manual as you go about this task and the parts can be bought through www.Bissell,com/parts

Loud motor

It could be caused by a worn drive belt. Here is a link to the belts you need and the manual which has instructions.

Bissell Velocity Vacuum brushes stopped

The brush bearings wear out on these things. I know I replaced mine twice before buying new carpet. I've had it for 10 years,
You can order these parts on the Bissell website:

Vacuum problem

Check the brush roll, do the ends turn freely, if not, replace it. Could have a clog in the hose or the dirt inlet by the brush roll, the other could be a bad motor.

Too loud noise of Bissell 6590-W vacuum cleaner

When they get real loud either the motor bearings or the motor fan are bad and you will have to replace the motor, part #2031100, would sell for about $45.
