SOURCE: Fuel line connection

Fuel filter to bottom of carb. The suction port of primer to the top of carb outlet line to other port to tank.
To tell which port is outlet put your finger on one port and push bulb if the bulb collapses and doesn't return then that is the inlet (suction) side.
Good luck

SOURCE: How do you get the fuel line connected to the fuel

You must run the fuel line through the back of the tank and out the filler hole, make your connections,i used a small amount of vaseline to make the connections. Then pull the filter into place, make sure some of the nipple of the filter pokes through, then slide the retainer ring on the hose and force it onto the filter nipple.

SOURCE: Hi, I have a ryobi BC30 brush cutter my fuel lines

The small diameter line out of fuel tank (has filter in-tank on end) connects directly to the side of the carburetor that has the fuel pump....that is the cover without the hole in it. Other larger diameter fuel line out of tank connects to the longer nipple on the external purge/primer bulb. The bulb "pulls" fresh fuel from the fuel tank to the carb and then out of the carb to itself, where it then "pushes" any air/old fuel back into the fuel tank. The remaining larger diameter fuel line in this setup goes from the metering chamber (has cover with writing on it and a vent-hole) side of the carburetor to the smaller nipple on the purge/primer bulb. Again, on the primer bulb, the longer nipple has a line going directly from it to the tank. This is the return line. The shorter nipple on the bub has a line from it going to the metering chamber side of the carb. If the purge/primer bulb is on top of the carb...small line from carb body to small hole in tank with filter. Larger diameter line goes from the bulb on the fuel pump side of the carb to the larger hole in the fuel tank where sometimes the line is held in place with a nylon nipple connector that keeps the line from pulling out of the tank. Otherwise, the line should enter the tank for about 1/2" or so

The diameter of the fuel lines are bigger then the holes in the fuel tank. Make sure u get the right diameter fuel line. The fuel lines are basically crimped by pressure. Sometimes its like there welded in place. There should be two fuel lines. One is short goes from carb to tank. When you use the primer bulb it takes fuel from tank through carb spits it back into tank. The longer one has the fuel filter on it. Empty all the gas from tank. Look inside of tank with a flashlight and try to locate the fuel filter. Take a piece of wire make hook on one end. Try to snag the fuel filter and pull out. Might as well replace filter while it is out. Take a pair of long nose pliers and grip the hose as close to the hole as possible. Try to pull with even pressure(no yanking). The lines may break because they could dry rotted. Make sure to hook lines back up the same way they came off carb.

Poulan PP4218 avx; tube (line) inside gas tank connecting filter has rotted and need to replace. Is there a tool used to push line onto "nipple" inside tank.

cheapest way is a new fuel tank from e-bay that has it all installed
you can remove the rubber grommet around the lines to get it out then get a new filter to push on the line BUT will it be cost effective against what can be obtained from e-bay

Craftsman chain saw 358.350870 starts but will not continue to run

look for gas tank vent. if clogged it will cause a vacuum in the gas tank and not let gas flow to Carb.

Working on a 1976 cherokee chief no gas getting to fuel filter. I replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter and still no gas getting to filter. How can I find out if their is a leak in the line. How do I take...

If you have the original line still on there, it's probably rotted out somewhere. It's easier and more productive to just replace it entirely. You can use rubber fuel line or make one from steel line. Just make sure that it is secured to the chassis and protected from catching on anything on the ground, especially if you intend to use it off-road. There is an in-tank "sock" filter on the end of the fuel pickup inside the tank. Most often you can clear it using compressed air attached to the fuel line. If it is really blocked up, it will blow right off the end and no longer be an issue. If you are concerned with debris from the tank going into the pump you can use a filter before the pump in the line. If you blow the line out, do it with the fill cap off so you don't "balloon" the tank. The tank is held up by two straps and also the fuel fill neck. If you need to lower it, it's best done with an empty tank but you also can use a floor jack with a piece of plywood on it to distribute the weight. Only rule is no drop-lights, cigarettes or any source of spark/heat while working with fuel. If a strap breaks during removal you can often just replace it with galvanized chimney strap.

Rotted fuel lines

normally one fuel line has a small filter on the end of it. that one needs to be exactly the same size. that one sucks up the gas and sends it to the engine. the other fuel line is for the excess gas / air to return to the gas tank and keeps it from spilling all over you / or wasting fuel. it can be shorter but is required to be inside the gas tank to recycle the unused fuel

Reattaching fuel line to gas tank.

Get a new line the same size and length of the old one. Get the filter out of the tank. If it is as I think, it has a barbed end that goes into the outlet hole. Take your new line, fit it onto the filter end and make sure it is all the way on. Take the other end of the line and cut a taper on the end. Thread the end through the tank, into the outlet hole and aissist it so your filter sticks through the tank hole. There was a ring on the outside of the tank, on the line. Take that ring and run the ring over the end of the tube up to the filter bottom. Make sure it goes all the way up to the bottom, and tight.Square off the end and slip it onto the carb...Good luck...Lee

Dry rotted tubing on my weedeater blower.

Have it replaced at a lawnmower repair shop.
1.) Have them check the grommet (black round rubber like a thick coin with 2 or 3 holes), replace it if it is crumbly. It holds the fuel line and the fuel vent line - if your trimmer has it. Grommets on the average cost about $6.00. Not all trimmers have fuel grommets, some of them only have holes right on the fuel tank. 2.) Replace the fuel line with Tygon fuel line hose. Tygon can withstand UV light, petroleum, high and low temperatures while retaining its shape. Just make sure the replacement tube is of the the same inside diameter. For a small piece of Tygon hose, ave. cost no greater than $8.00. 3.) Replace the fuel filter. The one inside the tank, connects to the end of the fuel line. Fuel filter, good ones are about $4.00.

My homelite weed eater sx-135 the fuel filter broke of the tube

The longest, and sometimes smaller in diameter, fuel line goes from the carb. to the bottom of the tank. It should rest comfortably on the bottom of the tank. The other line should go from the primer bulb to just inside the gas tank, (about an inch).
HINT: Cut the fuel lines at an angle before inserting them into the gas tank. This will allow you to get them in much easier.

If you need further assistance, just let me know.
