- packard bell imedia alt-col2 just wont recognise the screen mouse keyboard or even the cd drive and makes the worst noise i have ever heard from a computer. - GuestSolution #1

Find out what's making the noise first. It's either your fan or your hard drive. Check to make sure the noise your're hearing isn't your fan cutting into one of your wiring harnesses. That could be why you have the video problems. If it's your hard drive making the noise, that means it's on it's way out and you should immediately back up your files on disk and replace the drive before you lose everything.
