Re: reinstall

You can format XP and take necessary data on some disk or pendrive and then format it. And install your millenium in pc. Otherwise insert your millenium cd and reboot your pc. in bios select boot from cd option. Select other drive except in which xp is there. Then you will get 2 options of two operating systems. Select any one you want.

Windos xp pro product code

IF your windows XP is still running, you can find your original CD Key by using the Jelly bean Keyfinder. If not, you are out of luck, because they are no longer available unless you luck out on eBay or someplace like that. WE are not allowed to give out CD Product Keys for ANY Windows version. It is against the site policy, and agains the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, and the Anti Piracy laws of the United States.

XP was already installed on my laptop. Tried Windows 7. Need to reinstall XP. My product key is supposedly invalid now, but its the one stuck on the sticker on bottom of computer. Why won't this work...

Hi ,
I may be wrong but I don't think the code on the bottom of your computer is the right one . It should be labled inside the XP cd box you earlier had purchased .
Otherwise , you'l need to go back to your retailer's .
You can also call Microsoft activation Center at 888-725-1047 to explain the situation .
Regards .

Hi there,
We wish you a Happy New Year.
If you have the original CD use it,it's genuine windows. But what you get online is pirated.
Reinstall Windows XPTo reinstall Windows XP, try either of the following methods. If the first method does not work, try the second.

Note You may want to disconnect from the Internet during the installation. This helps protect you from malicious users. Method 1: Start the reinstallation from Windows XPTo reinstall Windows XP by using Windows XP CD, follow these steps:
  1. Start your computer.
  2. Insert the Windows XP CD in your computer's CD drive or DVD drive.
  3. On the Welcome to Windows XP page, click Install Windows XP.
  4. On the Welcome to Windows Setup page, click Upgrade (Recommended) in theInstallation Type box (if it is not already selected), and then click Next.
  5. On the License Agreement page, click I accept this agreement, and then click Next.
  6. On the Your Product Key page, type the 25-character product key in the Product keyboxes, and then click Next.
  7. On the Get Updated Setup Files page, select the option that you want, and then click Next.
  8. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to reinstall Windows XP.
If you successfully completed the reinstallation, congratulations. You are almost done. Please continue to the "After you reinstall Windows XP" section to finish.

If you received an error or if the reinstallation did not finish, try method 2. Method 2: Repair install of Windows XP by starting your computer from the Windows XP CDNote If Windows XP was preinstalled on your computer, you may need the installation CD to reinstall. Contact your computer manufacturer to make sure that you have the installation CD for a repair installation.

To reinstall Windows XP by starting your computer from the Windows XP CD, follow these steps:
  1. Insert the Windows XP CD into your computer's CD drive or DVD drive, and then restart your computer.
  2. When you receive the "Press any key to boot from CD" message on the screen, press a key to start your computer from the Windows XP CD.
  3. The following message on the Welcome to Setup screen will appear: This portion of the Setup program prepares Microsoft Windows XP to run on your computer: To setup Windows XP now, press ENTER. To repair a Windows XP installation by using Recovery Console, press R. To quit Setup without installing Windows XP, press F3.
  4. Press ENTER to set up Windows XP.
  5. On the Windows XP Licensing Agreement screen, press F8 to agree to the license agreement.
  6. Make sure that your current installation of Windows XP is selected in the box, and then press R to repair Windows XP.
  7. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to reinstall Windows XP. After you repair Windows XP, you may have to reactivate your copy of Windows XP. Need to factor reset,|NOT REBOOT, for acer aspire 3630 windows xp

Hi and welcome to Fixya..

Reinstalling Windows XP on an Acer Aspire 3000 is fairly straightforward. You may need to reinstall Windows XP due to hardware failure, a virus infection, major hardware changes or a hard drive upgrade. Whatever the reason, you can do the reinstall yourself at home. The reinstall will take anywhere from 1 1/2 to 3 hours, depending on the size of your hard drive. Be aware that reinstalling Windows XP will format your hard drive, getting rid of all data on, so you'll want to back it all up on a media device.
  • Step 1
Back up all data on your computer before reinstalling.
  • Step 2 Insert the Windows XP disk and restart your computer.
  • Step 3 Press any key when prompted to begin running the disk.
  • Step 4 Press F8 to agree to the terms of service.
  • Step 5 Choose the partition you want to reinstall Windows XP on. This is usually "C:" for most users.
  • Step 6 Choose the type of format. You can choose either "Quick" or "Full" for NTFS systems. A quick format only takes a few minutes less than the full format.
  • Step 7 Wait for the format to complete. The Windows XP installation wizard will begin. You will be asked to choose your time zone, computer name, and to input any network information. Otherwise, the reinstall will run by itself.

  • I hope this helps

    A little porblem

By the sounds of it you have a illegal copy of windows or you could have the Original Windows XP disc but the product key has been activated already, therefore Microsoft think that you have an illegal key for you copy of XP. My advice would be to visit the Microsoft website and purchase a valid key, or if you have reinstalled Windows you may have to ring them up and explain that you reinstalled XP and used the same product key that is on your computer and the computer thinks that it is fake and they will give you a new one over the phone.

Cannot complete installation of windows xp home edition

Have you added or changed your computer's hardware since you purchased your computer? Your Dell reinstallation disk will probably only work for the original configuration of your machine. If this is the case, dust off your old parts, remove your newer parts, then reinstall your old ones to get your system back to its original configuration. Once there, try the reinstallation again.
If this does not apply to you (or you can't get it to work), you can always purchase the operating system new (from newegg, tigerdirect or similar) and install from a disk that will have all of the drivers you need. OEM versions are cheapest, but you are on your own for support in the event of a problem. I hope this helps.

How to install XP in toshiba Satellite L45-S7423 laptop

You cannot uninstall Windows Vista, but you can reinstall your previous operating system, which then replaces Windows Vista. To reinstall your old operating system, you must have the original installation disc. Back up your programs and files, insert the installation disc into your computer, and then reinstall the old operating system. To regain the hard disk space used by Windows Vista, reformat the disk during the reinstallation process. After reinstalling your previous operating system, reinstall your programs and files.
