Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional With Servise Pack 2 (e8503040) for PC

1 Answer

Windows antivirus I was given this computer and I installed AVG and I want to get rid of the windows antivirus program as it keeps saying it has detected spyware infection. I can't get in touch with the previous owner so I can't be the administrator on this computer. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

My computer is freezing or not responding. Also downloads are being blocked completely

Sounds like you have a virus. boot into safemode with networking and download malwarebytes run that in safe mode. then restart into normal windows and run malware again. then i suggest downloading AVG its free and antivirus great program. also if you are using mcaffee dont use it. It slows your PC down way to much

How i keep my pc safe, clear & malware free?

You can keep your PC Clean from viruses and malware by downloading and installing a couple of programs

AVG Free
Avast Antivirus
These are both free and great, i personally lean towards the use of AVG

CCleaner is a program which removes all your temp files which is usually where malware is kept

and finally
Spybot S&D
Spybot removes any Malware software that has been installed

all these programs are completely free or have a free version

Hope this helps.

There are total 29 spyware, trojan rougeand adware viruses in the pc ican get rid of all these please .product is window vista.hp pavilion intel core 2 quad processor

You gave no mention of anti spyware or antivirus programs.

You need to reboot your computer in safe mode (F8) as it is starting.

Once in Safe Mode, run your antispyware, antivirus and antimalware programs. then restart in normal mode and run them again.

If you have none of these programs, try:

Advance system Care
- anti spyware
AVG AntiVirus
Security 360 - anti malware, trojans

good luck

Heaps of viruses corrupted files

fixer1950 sorta has the right idea. You do need an antivirus, but I disagree with his choice. Avast has a poor detection rate. You should use Avira if you want a free antivirus or Nod32 if you don't mind paying for one. To get rid of the viruses, run malwarebytes and superantispyware. Then install either Avira or Nod32.
Keep all your software up to date, keep the Windows Firewall on and run ccleaner once a week or so and you should be fine.
