Question about Canon PowerShot Pro1 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Telephoto lens I have added a telephoto lens to my pro 1. I have 2 lens adaptor tubes and a merkury 2x 58 mm lens. When I try to photograph at any distance the object is blurry, out of focus.I have tried only using optical zoom and it still won't focus properly.Every other aspect of the camera is great.Macro works great with the merkury wide angle macro lens & adaptor, it's just the tele lens. HELP, I can't get as close to the deer as I would like without the tele lens.

I own a Tamron SP 80-210 adaptall II len with Pentax mount. I currently own a Nikon 7000. Can I use the Tamron with the Nikon by adding a adaptor? Any suggested adaptor I should be using? Thanks

Hi, The focal distance on Pentax camera's is different then the focal distance on Nikon's so because of that Pentax lens' can't be adapted to work on a Nikon camera. I'd suggest finding a similar lens with a Nikon mount as cross brand mounting is quite difficult.

I have a Canon Powershot S3IS and I recently purchased a 2x telephoto lens. When I use the telephoto lens and try to extend the distance as far as it will go, the camera shuts off and says lens error...

Did you tell the camera that you are using an external/additional lens? You have to specify it somewhere in the menu, the camera gives you some options (the lens model numbers) and you need to match it with your lens' model number.

I want to use fairly telephoto lens in D3 slr nikon camera

You don't say what sort of telephoto you want to buy or how much money you want to spend but basically anything longer than a 50 mm is regarded as telephoto.
A staring point for you maybe the lens listed below: Nikon Telephoto Zoom 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED AF-S VR
It importantly has VR or "Vibration Reduction" on it to reduce camera blur when hand holding telephoto shots. This is just a staring point... You need to work out what you want to photograph Cheers Ian

Purchase Zoom Lenses

Canon currently makes super Telephoto lenses from 300mm to 800mm and a number of zoom Telephoto lenses from 28-300 to 100-400. You can also special order a 1200mm lens from Canon at a cost of $99k! (There are only about 20 such lenses made so far.)

You can also get a 1.4 or 2x teleconverter to further increase the power of a telephoto lens. However, the cameras are unable to auto-focus when the minimum f-stop exceeds f/8, which can happen when you use one (or both) of the teleconverters on these longer lenses, so you have to manually focus the lens.

You can also get telephoto lenses from other manufacturers such as Tamron and Sigma that are built to work with Canon cameras. However, the Canon lenses are generally regarded as the best quality.

I have an SP 510 UZ digital camera. I have just bought a new telephoto lense, but I can't seem to get the existing lense off the cammera. Help!

Hey john42hockey,
The lens on this camera is not removable. What you need to attach the telephoto lens to your camera is to get a 43-55mm Step-Up Ring, and a CLA-1 lens adapter tube. You should first attach the lens adapter tube to the camera, and then screw the step up ring into the tube and then screw the telephoto lens into step up ring. I have included a link to the manufacturer where you can purchase both the step up ring, and the lens adapter tube incase you need these. I hope this helps!

Go Ahead. Use Us.
