My mouse pad doesent work

Locate the function key on your keyboard (F1 through F12) that has an icon of a touchpad. This is often a rectangle with two smaller rectangles below it, representing the touchpad and its two buttons.

Press and hold the "Fn" key, usually found in the lower left area of your keyboard.

Press the touchpad function key and then release both keys.

If this does not enable your touchpad, try holding the "Fn" key down and pressing the touchpad function key twice in a row.

Shortcut Key Method

Press the Windows icon key on your keyboard and hold it down until the Start menu pops up. If your keyboard doesn't have a Windows icon, press "Ctrl-Esc" at the same time.

Use your arrow keys to locate the Control Panel and press "Enter."

Navigate to "Mouse" with your arrow keys and press "Enter" to open the mouse control dialog box. Then, press "Alt-F" together to access the tabs at the top of this box.

Navigate using the arrow keys to "Device Settings" or "Touchpad" or the similar option on your system and press "Enter."

Press the "Tab" key until the "Enable" option or a check box next to it highlights and then press "Enter." Press "Tab" again until you are highlighting "OK," and press "Enter."

Your touchpad will be re-enabled.

hope this helps

I turned off my touch pad to my acer aspire 5733z and it wont turn bk on

Locate the "Fn" key in the lower right or left corner of the laptop keyboard.

The "Fn" key typically has different colored text on it or the key itself is a different color.

Locate the function (F1 through F12) key at the top of the keyboard that disables or enables the touchpad on the laptop.

The key typically has an icon that resembles a touchpad with a finger touching it or a touchpad with a diagonal line through it.

Press both the "Fn" and touchpad Function key simultaneously to reactive the touchpad on your laptop.

Move your finger along the touchpad to verify that it works.

Press the combination at any time to disable the touchpad again.

hope this helps

My mother just gave me a toshiba laptop and she had a wireless mouse for it before. I do not have the mouse on it now and the mouse pad is not working. How do I restore it to the original setting?

Hi parothead91...

To fix an unresponsive touchpad on your laptop, reactivate it by using the Function key on the keyboard and the Fn key.

This process is different for each computer manufacturer.
If unsure which Function key enables and disables the touchpad, try each one at a time and then
attempt to use the touchpad after each one.

A...Locate the "Fn" key of the laptop keyboard.
The "Fn" key has different colored text or the key is a different color.
B...Locate the function (F1 through F12) key at the top of the keyboard that disables or enables the touchpad on the laptop.
The key typically has an icon that resembles a touchpad with a finger touching it or a touchpad with a diagonal line through it.
C...Press both the "Fn" and touchpad Function key at the same time to reactive the touchpad on your laptop.
Move your finger along the touchpad to verify that it works. Press the combination at any time to disable the touchpad again.
Note: Mac computers use "F2" to enable and disable the touchpad.

Touch pad does not work

Hi,
  1. Look for Fn function key - Most laptops have this special key Fn that is next to the Ctrl key on the keyboard. It should have a blue or green color, easy to find.
  2. Look for F1 to F12 functions keys, they are on the top row of the keypad. Look for one has an icon that looks like the touchpad, which is to control the touchpad of your laptop. It maybe F8 or F9 depends on each make of your laptop. These function keys also control the brightness, sound, wireless etc.
  3. Now hold down the Fn key and the F10 key to enable the touchpad, in this example, the Toshiba laptops. You press them again to disable it
  4. If none of the above works, plug in an USB mouse, then check into the Control Panel -> touchpad or mouse configurations. Also, check Device Manager if the touchpad driver is installed and working
Good Luck!

Explain wireless keyboard wireless mouse

You just plug the usb adapter for the wireless keyboard and mouse into the computer and run the install disk. Wireless just means that the device sends signals to the recieving devices.
