Just buy a file and push 3 or 4 down strokes down the same slope of the cutter toward the sharp edge. Never file on the flat top of the cutter, only on the slope. Support the frame using a saw horse or pick-up bed. The support makes the file cut the metal better. You can do the same thing with chain saws. You just need the file that fits the cutter. You just hold a consistant angle and count out the same number of strokes. Also, clean out junk between the moving parts, tighten any loose screws, and drop a few drops of 3 in 1 oil between the moving parts. Having things sharpened at a shop is inconvenient and expensive.

hello. Both of your solutions will give you what you need which is a trimmer that cuts well. Here is the link to remington where you can price each choice. Joe http://www.remington-store.com/category.asp?CAT=parts

Testimonial: "thank you very much!"
The likely issue is the gear pin has been sheared. The part is no longer available from Craftsman. (P/N from sears: 616255-001)
I had a similar issue with a similar electric trimmer. I removed the old pin and used a split pin and ground it down to the proper size. It's now worked for about 2 years just fine. This requires complete dis-assembly.

SOURCE: I bought a homelite curb
I found that your electric edger blade is rounded on the ends. I did not find a part number for it. I also found a site that has about 30 or more Homelite edger blades listed, but again, with half of them without pictures, I can't give you the edger blade part number. But, if you have removed the blade and can measure all the dimensions of the blade, then you can match it up with one from this site. They have more blades than other sites I checked. It should not be too hard as each blade listed has the critical dimensions listed with it. I wish you good luck.

Restaurant Store sells pizza cutter blades for a good price, although as the
pizza cutters themselves are not expensive, you might find it just easier to
buy a new one.
