Bissell 16971 has a leaking problem when turned on. The water flows out too fast. Any recommendations as to what is may be?

it is possible that the auto load assembly is damaged or your trigger (button) is stuck. Also check to be sure nothing is stuck in your auto load assembly (this is the part with the spring that allows the water to flow only when pushed up on).
check section on which the auto load would rest to make sure it is also moving freely when trigger on handle is depressed, and not stuck in the up position.

I included link to ereplacementparts.com they have tare down pics and all the parts if new are needed. I have used them for parts to my side by side a few times. good luck

What is the best way to unclog the tubing from the shampoo container to the water supply. My machine, I thought, was working well! Then I realized I did not see movement in tank of shampoo and the carpet...

the machine has to run for few minutes in the parked postion to heat the water or it will not dispense, for one for twoif you turn the heat off and add hot water to the tank instead it will bypass the heating and work in the meantime best way to unclog after following these steps is there is an airlock in tline turn heat off in parked position and motor on hold the trigger down for about 15 to 20 seconds release and turn off, then in parked position (locked) upright pull trigger and hold then turn on power you then will have ceased the airlock if you want to clean the unit after trying this baking soda and apple cider vinegar is best, drop the handle to ground pull the tank out and loof for the round area that the tank plug goes into take a push pin and poke the holes, then dump the baking soda and vinegar that is mixed from a cup by a few drops to sizzle in there, lift and lock and turn on holding the trigger and there ya go, have fun

Spray trigger stuck?

Hi there! If the spray trigger is stuck try removing and replacing the handle. Remove the two screws that attach the handle. Slide the handle off. Inspect the two rods inside of the handle for damages. Make sure both rods are pulled down. Replace handle and two screws. If the spray trigger is still stuck or if the rods were damaged in any way a replacement handle may be needed. If so I have included a link where you may purchase a replacement handle. Search Results Good luck!

Rubbermaid Reveal mop trigger sticking

I bought 2 rubbermaid reveal spray mops before I figured this out. You'll need a Phillips and flat head screwdriver & a can of WD40. On the compartment that holds the liquid cleaner bottle there are 2 screws and 1 screw on the connector piece to the mop head. Unscrew all three. The one by the mop head came out and the other two stayed in their holes. Then with a flathead screwdriver gently pull the seam along the side apart. You only need 1/2-1 inch of a gap. If you pull it open all the way you'll pop a few other pieces out of place and have to piece them all back together- so gently! Then spray some WD40 in along the exposed spring using the red straw that comes with the can. Close the gap, hold it together and try the trigger a few times. If the trigger is still sticking spray more WD40 in until it frees up. Then screw your screws back in and it's as good as new!

Machine is stuck on reverse mode

Try this,Go back to straight stitch, zero your stitch length, zero your stitch width, turn your hand wheel towards you for few rounds then select a stitch length and see if the reverse lever will work normal after this. Otherwise get it fix by a local technician.

I just replaced the pump on my bissell proheat and now it spray's water all the time how do i fix it

The pump wiring may not have been reattached correctly.

Sometimes the trigger can get stuck, so try working that back and forth a few times. Power cycle the machine (unplug it) and try again.

Cannot find repair manual for Hoover H3044

I found the inner round valve where the tube connects for the cleaning fluid was stuck shut. Although the "trigger" was working fine and the rod pushed againstthe valeve it wasn't working. Here's how I found this out. I tried to blow air through it and nothing would pass. I soaked it in hot water for a while and heard a "click." Tried blowing air through it and it passed through. It works like new now. It appears the "cleaning solution" causes a build up of "stickiness" that eventually causes the valve to stick in the closed position. Heating it in hot water caused it to become unstuck. I rinsed it well with hot soapy water before reassembling the machine.

Trigger on hose attachment not working so water sprays constantly

from your description, the trigger sounds like it is stuck in the release position. this sounds like a very simple repair. The component parts need to be looked at by a service shop

The steps to correct it: The thumb trigger and the sliding brass valve clog up and don't move. So if you use it and press the thumb trigger and no steam comes out, it's probably clogged.

Wait until it cools down. Empty the unit.

1.) unscrew any attachments and you will see where they screw in at the end, two small philips head screws on the end. remove them. The red rounded piece at the end will come off.
2.) now on the top, unscrew the water stopper top where you poor water in.
3.) Now below that is a round rubber piece that surrounds the threaded part where the stopper top screws on to. Grab it with your fingers and lift it up on the sides to remove it.
4.) now underneath here you can see two screws. Remove them.
5.) now grab the whole top piece that is "black" and pull upward to remove it. you may want to start at the front and work it off. It has a few snaps that will release when pulled. I have done this a few times so dont be afraid to pull this piece off.
6.) now you will see the valve assembly. Take a small hammer and tap on the small rounded "brass" nub that is sticking out of the "trigger side" of the valve. To know if it has released, I usually place my lips around the end that the steam comes out of and blow while pressing in on the little brass nub on the other side. I do this until that nub moves freely and I can hear the air escape out the top from my blowing on it. Sounds funny but it works. If not free, tap it harder, a few more times, until it is free. It will free up eventually. It gets stuck from time to time but this will get you back in business fairly quickly.
7.) move the nub a few times to ensure smooth movement.

Re-assembly

1.) The black plastic top will snap into place. Just line up the trigger spring with the red nub and snap the whole black piece back into place.
2.) place the two screws back in.
3.) The rubber protector ring is tricky. You will see the underside has a rubber edge that snaps in place. Work it around as best as possible and i usually use a screw driver to push the last little bit into place.
4.) place the red circular end cap on and the two screws that go with it.

you are all done. Once you do this a few times, you will become a pro OR as the above poster said, use distilled water.

Trigger not working correctly

You might need to de-scale the unit to free the stuck valve.
Keep the unit unplugged.
Fill the unit with a vingar and water (filtered or distilled is best).
Screw the cap back on and place the unit in a sink upside down to allow the vingar and water to reach the valve.
After a few minutes press down the trigger several time to work the solution into the valve.
Hope this helps.
