When I am unloading the dishwasher the dishes have a white residue on them as if the soap wasn't rinsed off enough and many times the glasses have little bits of food stuck in them

Hi,

The scum, film and white residue problems have started since the reduction of phosphates in dishwasher detergents.

You need to check the drain system completely, look for plugged screens, pump impellers, valves and the drain hose. You need to witness a large volume of water flow during drain.

Dishes seem to have a powery residue on them after they're clean

Check inlet water quality for hardness. If salt chamber is provided, fill the chamber with salt meant for washing machine.

There is a drain hose for your dishwasher that often gets clogged. Remove the drain hose and clean it out. reinstall the hose and your dishwasher will drain. The dishwasher should have a panel to remove and then comes out easily, just be careful not to pull it out too far. If this does not fixya then you may need to throw some parts at it, but hopefully not. Good luck

White gasket has come out from somewhere in my dishwasher

As for the gasket the only thing I can think of not knoweing size etc is that it more than likely goes under the salt dispenser lid. The dishes not drying (1)check the rinse aid it may be empty and (2) While you are checking the rinse aid level double check the salt levels aswell.
