Question about Samsung Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

I have a Samsung model HT-e5500w. It worked splendidly until a couple of days ago. Without any input from me, it switches through all modes...i.e. Smart Hub, to Play Disk (there is none in the machine), iPod, HDMI in 1, HDMI in 2, and so on until it gets back to Smart Hub and continues. It stays in each mode for only a few seconds, up to maybe 30 seconds. It's quite maddening. I can't navigate the Smart Hub long enough to try a reset. Please help! Thanks for your time. -Jim in Texas

After reading some of the issues here and seeing that some issues are heat related, I had a flash of insight. I took the box apart and cleaned the heck out of it. It is working perfectly now! I do remember to dust my computers regularly, but it hadn't occurred to me to dust my home theater equipment! This site was helpful to me, and the issue is resolved. Thanks for all you do.

SOURCE: Cannot turn TV off when playing CD's with samsung HT-X810R/LG50PG

Problem traced to Samsung's Anynet+ System interacting with LG's Simplink. They seem to be
compatible. Cured by Menu/Option/Simplink/OFF. Hope this helps with anyone else having this problem. trev6.

Pls my Samsung hometheater 3D ht-e5500w, is writing protect after few minutes when its being turned on. Pls how can I restart it .

You will need to check any connections especially all the speaker leads. Make certain none of them touch each other. If that doesn't clear it you might have a short circuited device inside the unit.

I have a Samsung HT-E5500W home theater and as soon as I turn it on flips through all the input options. For instance, I watch TV through HDMI1, but shortly after I turn it on and watch TV it switches...

I have a similar Samsung receiver, and it sometimes does something similar with the volume going up and not stopping until i turn the unit off. It has a similar touch panel like yours. Try wiping down the face of the unit with a baby wipe, thoroughly, and dry it off with a soft dry cloth, preferable micro fiber. Also there may be a small chance the remote may be causing the issue, to test that, remove the batteries and see if the issue persists. Best of luck.

Optical input not working

Make sure you take the rubber protectors off the ends of the optical cable , put it from your tv into aynet 1 on the back of the blue ray then to hear the tv through the speakers select d.in 1 on the blue ray remote and press the mode button on the controller until you get matrix so you can listen through all speakers.
