p2610 is engine contro module or ecu the cars main computer for both fuel injection and ignition,Remove the large block connector going to the ecu and spray both with contact cleaner,should sort it.

FOR CODE P2106 (INTERNAL ENGINE OFF TIMER PERFORMANCE) THE FLOW CHART WILL LEAD YOU TO BELIEVE ITS THE PCM. THIS WILL PROBABLY NOT FIX IT. FIRST CHECK TO SEE IF NON FACTORY SPARK PLUGS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED. IF THEY HAVE THIS IS MOST LIKELY THE CAUSE.THEY WILL PRODUCE INTERFERENCE THRU THE COIL WIRING AND CAUSE THE PCM TO THINK THERE IS A PROBLEM. SIMPLY PUT FACTORY PLUGS BACK IN ENGINE AND CLEAR CODES.PROBLEM SHOULD BE GONE.I HAVE BEEN THRU THIS. SID CODESPOTI (SERVICE MANAGER)STOKES MAZDA, CHARLESTON,SC
