The most likely cause for water fill temperature problems is the solenoid has burned out, usually cold first, it gets used more. Not a repairable item , easy to replace

SOURCE: Kenmore Heavy Duty Washer Leaking from bottom

Probably the drain pump seal has gone bad.
Check it for leaks.
If your floor is good and level look for water near the front center of the machine.

My washer smells moldy. Could it be filter don't know where it is located . It is admiral top load 2 speed heavy duty.

debra, I would run a hot water cycle without cloths, add clorex -clorine and a little detergent to the water. After the cycle fully runs, leave the lid open for few hours. It might help. Good Luck.

Machine will wash on hot only will not on cold or will not fill with cold at all

This is an indication that the solenoid on the cold water valve is bad. Or the cold water valve is plugged. If you can get to the valves, use a meter to check the solenoid OR the power to the solenoid. That will tell you if it is bad. If you dont have a meter, switch the wires from one solenoid to the other and see if it fills

Easy fix. Remove the control panel dust cover and look and see if that small hose is attached to that water level switch.1799041.jpg It may have vibrated off the switch. Air pressure is wat makes that switch work. If the hose is on there remove it and blow through it to remove any sediment that may be blocking the air. Reattach it and pump out the washer. Retry.

Washer does not allow hot water to enter machine when you press the heavy duty button. Regular warm cycle or hot works fine. Replaced the water valves, main control panel.

Hi,

This is a common question we face daily. Certain washing machines allow hot water to enter only during certain cycles. Others allow hot and cold to enter intermittently. Consult your owner's manual to be absolutely sure about this. If you're sure the machine isn't working the way it used to--or should--try these tests:
Is the hot water turned on? If not, turn it on.
Is the washer getting cold water but no hot water? If so, check to see if the control panel
settings are correct.

Thanks for writing to Fixya.com and I am Aparajita. I will be assisting you today.

GWL15 no hot water on Regular or Heavy Duty Cycles

should you select a 40* wash it would not be right if the machine filled with hot water, as the water in the house tank is a lot more than 40* ( around 65* i think?) this would just damage the clothes and i am sure you would just complain again at that.

if the machine works fine then there is no problem
