Every branch of mathematics has its own set of symbols.

If you have Microsoft Word 2007, open Word on a blank document Click Insert Equation (Greek letter Pi ) the top ribbon changes and you will see what follows.

By clicking each icon you will open drop down windows that will show you some more symbols.

Enjoy the exploration.

Hi,

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

goodluck!

There are various ways that a mathematical expression fails to be an equation. It lacks a relational operator (symbol). It has a less than sign, or a greater than sign, or a combination of other symbols. If you language homework requires(?) that you find an antonym for equation, try non-equation.

The symbol is called a CARET and normally sits between two

numbers.... the first is called a BASE and the second is EXPONENT.

The second number signifies the amount of times the first number

is to be multiplied by itself. (2^2=4). Hope this helps.

Regards,

Dennis

Yes, that is possible. Here is a simple program that prompts the user to enter the value of the radius, then it displays the circumference.

To name variables use single letter symbols, A, B, C, ...

To enter keywords such as** Input** and **Disp**(play) use the sequence **[2nd][0] (Catalog) **then scroll or press the letter that begins the keyword to go to the top of the list of commands that start with that letter. For other mathematical and non litteral symbols scroll up to go to the end of the catalog and continue to scroll up until you find the symbol.

n mathematics, an **expression** is a finite combination of symbols that are well-formed according to the rules applicable in the context at hand. Symbols can designate values (constants), variables, operations, relations, or can constitute punctuation or other syntactic entities.

Any "expression" that represents a numeric value. Example: 2+2=4 or x+7=10. Actually the examples above are equations, not expressions. Expressions do not have = signs. 7a and 4x are examples.

it is a mathematical statement e.g 7=**6+1** THE WHOLE THING IS AN EQUATION but the 6+1 is a expression. You can only have expression is there is an = sign

Yes the 6 + 1 part is an expression. Once you have an = sign or any of the other inequality symbols (,...) it is no longer an expression but a full math sentence

Here you go, Ray Ray...

In order to calculate the factorial of a number you must do the following:

1. Type your number [8]

2. Hit MATH

3. Scroll to PRB

4. Hit ENTER [The factorial symbol should be either the 1st one on that list or the 4th one]

Longstoryshort, if you want to find the factorial symbol on your TI-83 you must go to MATH. PRB. !. Done

By the way...that factorial is the fastest growing type of function in mathematics, and it is the backbone behind permutation, combinations, and a lot of probability theory.
