N1 Belkin wireless router F5d8231-4

Everything was great. Son gets Halo 3, decides to hop onto my computer--where the router is hooked up--and change the NAT settings without knowing what he was doing or asking me (of course I would've said NO WAY). That screwed all up, now no one can use their wireless computers, so he hit the reset button on the router.

Now, of course, nothing works, I only get the router light turning on the router, and he is out of luck for both computers and the X-Box.

Of course, I have access because I hooked back up to the modem on this computer, but I have a wireless computer too and want it fixed.

Everythign was perfect. Perfect! Until Halo 3 came out!

How do I fix this???

You need to reset the router to default and reinput your wireless security settings.
You will need your router's IP adress. If you did not change it, it should default to 192.168.2.1

Type the IP Adress into your web browser. It should invoke a password screen to access your router. Log in to it.

I don't know how handy you are with computers. If this seems like mumbo jumbo, STOP! Find a tech to handle it for you.

This is the address to the User manual if you need it:

http://www.belkin.com/support/dl/F5D8231...

this is page 41:

Restoring Factory Default Settings

Using this option will restore all of the settings in the Router to the factory (default) settings. It is recommended that you back up your settings before you restore all of the defaults.

1. Click the ?Restore Defaults? button.

2. When the message appears, Click ?OK?.

3. The following message will appear. Restoring the defaults includes restarting the Router. It can take up to 60 seconds. It is important not to turn the power to the Router off during the restart.

4. A 60-second countdown will appear on the screen. When the countdown reaches zero, the Router?s defaults will be restored. The Router home page should appear automatically. If it does not, type in the Router?s address (default = 192.168.2.1) into the navigation bar of your browser.

Hope this helps... If not leave a message and I will respond back!
