You need your magnetron replaced. But it could be just a burned wire or a blown thermal cutoff.

SOURCE: 3 year old unit, oven works, microwave does not

hi,

You may need a new magnetron, contact sharp or the store you got it from; most microwaves have a 3-5 year warranty on the magnetron. If it's not in warranty, find a good appliance repairman, this is a difficult and dangerous repair job.

SOURCE: humming and sparking inside the microwave

Sounds like you have metal inside oven, and arching can happen if nothing is in there to absorb energy.

SOURCE: microwave oven not heating

Test the high voltage capacitor, the rectifier diode.or the magnetron. If all this are fine, test the control board.

The diodeand capacitors can be tested. The capacitor must bealloweddischargebefore testing, or you risk to get electrocuted, evenifpower is off.Capacitors can get discharged by shorting theirtwocontacts.
Before replacing the magnetron test also the control board.
Replace the magnetron if the checks and all of the high voltage component tests are good, but the unit still does not heat.

All locations, and description of this parts can be located using the diagram here: Counter top.

Parts must be tested to find out what is wrong.

Remember that microwaves are potentially dangerous devices if not repaired properly, the job must be done by a competent person.
A microwave energy leakage test must always be performed when the oven is serviced for any reason.

Regarding parts, contact the seller here to purchase parts.

You can also order from MicrowaveSvc , they also provide parts.

SOURCE: I have a Hamilton Beach

maby it's the magnetron, i need more information, a good way to test the magnetron is to put a small HE-NE lamp in a glass filled with water (HE-NE lamps) are found in any radioshack (La source) store, if the lamp glowes orange it meens the magnetron is good, if it is not glowing then the magnetron is dead, (the magnetron is allmost the price of the oven) it could be a fuse but if you have to change the fuse replace it with the same type (normaly ceramic german type) NOT GLASS

Good luck!

Assuming its the same as my Hamilton Beach, you first enter the cooking time, but don't press start yet, instead press power, then a number button 1 - 9 for the power level 1 for 10%, 2 for 20% etc. THEN press start as normal

Hamilton Beach Microwave everything comes on but no heat

You'd first have to determine if it's a control issue or a problem in the high voltage section.

I would need to ask you a few questions to nail it down and give you the repair information you need.

Fee free to e-mail me at pupista@gmail.com with your full model number and FCC ID number as shown on the tag in or on the oven, and your detailed symptoms for free advice.

Hamilton beach microwave model number hb-p100n30al-s3 left unplugged all night still won't heat. Buy a new one?

I would say so. if its not heating it can be a magnetron tube or high voltage inverter circuit. For the cost of repair its not worth it.

Hit power level button then number 1 through 10. Most have 10 power levels. 1 is extremely low. 3 is usually defrost, 5 would be half power and so on.
