Question about Televison & Video
LG has the manuals for most of their products on their support site. The LG RC389H manuals are here: http://www.lg.com/au/support-product/lg-RC389H . Click on the Product Support button (on the right hand side of the page). Then click on the link for Manuals & Documents or scroll down to the Manuals & Documents tab. There are two manuals listed; the second one is in a PDF format and can be read with Adobe Reader or a similar program. My browser history gives the direct link as http://www.lg.com/lgecs.downloadFile.ldwf?DOC_ID=KROWM000187485&ORIGINAL_NAME_b1_a1=RC389H-W%5B2%5D.BNZLLK_MFL57156212_.pdf&FILE_NAME=KROWM000187485.pdf&TC=DwnCmd .
I hope this helps.

I eventuall got a reply from the firm concerned after three days of trying and getting nowhere. The problem is now fixed a plug was in the wrong place and another cable was needed.
I came across your websight when I was frustrated at no getting a reply from them so I know about you in the future. Thanks for your trouble and quick response.

Check the model specifications for your device. Some players will only accept DVD-R and not DVD+R or not DVD+RW discs. I know it all seems the same, and it's very frustrating, but many companies restrict the type of discs they will allow. My player does +R but not -R. It should still be able to read DVD discs that you made yourself, but they will be of a different type.

Testimonial: "Thank you, that might be the answer."
Put both your vhs and blank dvd into the player.
Go into VHS mode and press "Home" menu button.
Scroll across to "Easy Menu" and select "Dubbing".
Make sure you are at the place on your VHS where you want to record from and select the "Dubbing" button.
Press the Stop button to finish transfering.
When it has done recording file information, press eject once and select to finalize the disc.
And that's it!

The manual is available from LG:
click on the support tab and you'll find the manual listed on the right side of the web page (it's done as a frame).
I hope this helps.
