Question about Singer Confidence 7463 Computerized Sewing Machine

1 Answer

When plugging in the pedal, the machine beeps. However, it is unresponsive to the pedal otherwise. I can't get the machine to go. If I remove the pedal from the machine I am able to use the button for back stitching but other than that the machine will not sew. I'm unsure if this is pedal problem, machine problem or just plain human error on my part...

SOURCE: Beeping Sewing Machine

Your problem is most certainly with the buttonhole switch. Firstly: Look if the buttonhole lever, left back of machine, is push up in position. The beeping sound is a warning message. Secondly Remove the light cover, left of the machine, loosen back screw and remove left hand screw completely. Check for a small black electric switch, follow the brown and green elecrtic wire, just back of the light. If you push the BH lever up and down the switch finger should also move up and down. If it stays down, the machine will not work and give a beeping sound. If the switch finger is stuck, push it up with the BH in top position. Hope this will help you

SOURCE: SINGER XL1000 SEWING MACHINE

Hi Peggy,

I know this want be easy for you.  I need any kind of part number you can get off the LCD screen.  Is it a display and you type the different stitch stuff into a keypad?  Or , is the LCD a touch screen that you touch the screen to select a stitch?  I do not have one of these Sewing machines, but I do Electronics repair. Is your Screen Black and not displaying anything?  I believe we can work through this and get you a repair solution. The back light may have gone out on the screen only. Please reply with more info, so that we can get you a solid solution.  By the way, Singer really does not make those anymore.  They are making a more modern Screen at this time. Usually after 5 years, the manufacturers stop making parts for a model. Good news though, we can work on repairing the one you have. Go to Ebay and see if we can buy a XL1000, or other venue to rob the parts from.

Look for the buttonhole lever, just in front of the presserlever, on the lefthand side of the machine. Pull it down and push it back to the top. Good Luck

I was attempting to pick up the bobbing thread, before sewing. The needle is now stuck in the down position and the handwheel is unresponsive but the motor is whirring when foot pedal is depressed.

Do not press the foot pedal. Continuing to run the motor when the machine cannot work properly could irreparably damage the motor. Unplug your machine. Cut the top thread at the needle, open the bobbin area and try to remove the bobbin case. You may have to patiently snip tangled threads, but eventually you should be able to get the bobbin case out. Once that happens, the needle will most likely be free.

Pressure foot will not lift up

do u have an automatic machine meaning ft is lifted by pressing ft pedal a certain dirtection. otherwise tilt machine and push knee lever. there should be a flat oval piece on top of lever rod. does it rise straight? it needs to contact the push rod on the machine presser ft. see if the line up by lowering the machine slightly. if not bend rod to aglin. your knee lift may need adjustment too and maybe the presser ft screw located by removing the rubber plug on side of machine or take off the plate by removing 3 screws. careful with gasket cause machine will leak if u tear gasket.. presser ft screw is easy to find. lower ft and tighten. make sure that the needle is centered in foot slot when adjusting presser ft screw. otherwise thread will break when needle hits side of presser ft. a very common problem that many do know about and someday i will charge the site. 35 years with juki and still going strong.

sounds like the new top tension dial is not working either
there could be something wrong with the computer part of the machine
is the power cord plugged in correctly?
also is the foot pedal plugged in correctly?
have you had the foot pedal check to see if there is something wrong with it?
I would suggest having the machine check, there are lemons even in sewing

Singer 7436 beeps - not working

Check to be sure the buttonhole lever is in the up position and the presser foot is down. Check feed dogs to be sure they are in the up position.

Singer 7462 sewing machine

There is two seperate cords on this machine. A power cord and a pedal cord. If you put the power cord in and switch the machine on, and then remove the pedal cord it should give you a beeping sound, which shows you the connection does work.

Please give me feedback in order to help you
