Question about Mtd Products TB2BP EC 27Cc Backpack Blower

1 Answer

Yardman 27cc 445cfm Backpack Blower starts fine, but when I try to depress the trigger for more power it dies. Idles smooth with full choke and dies when on no choke setting. Have had someone say it needs a new carb? The machine is only a year old.

There may be a plugged fuel filter in the fuel tank, or perhaps you have the oil mix to rich. other problems could be that it needs a new spark plug or carburetor adjusted.
Try spraying the carb out with carb cleaner, add a little seafoam in with the gas.

It starts and idles fine when you hit the throttle it dies

Howz ur choke set up, is it wide open when on cold start then u close it once it idles smoothly?
If yes then your choke system is at problem, else your power jets are your problem source. Have it a check out as it is more of gsping for air than anything else. Good luck.

Blower will only run on full choke ryobi ry08578

They aren't designed to run with full choke on, the choke is for starting cold engines only, many times you can choke them pull the cord a few times and then turn the choke off or turn it down to start it. Then slowly reduce the choke until it runs fine on its own.

2-cycle blower starts up but wont run full power rpm

Have you tried choking it about half way and see if that helps? Does it do the same after it is warmed up?

Starts and idles will not run above idle unless choked. Have cleaned carb multiple times new fuel filter new air cleaner and cleaned exhaust screen new plug. Maybe a collapsing fuel line?

Hi,
Have you tried adjusting the carb? There should be two screws on the carb (hi & Low) turn the hi screw completely until it stops and then start the unit. Let it warm up and then begin to back the screw out until it starts to run smoothly but strong. Once you have it running then put it in full run position (choke) and you should be good.
Good luck!

The best way to start cold husqv leaf blower 145

Most of the small outdoor power equipment that I have used takes the following to start:

1. Prime 6-8 times, or whatever the manual calls for.

2. Choke the carb to full choke.

3. Pull starter rope. It may sputter and die.

4. After it sputters and dies, put the choke on 1/2. Pull a time or 2 more and should start. Run like that 10 seconds or so, then take choke all the way off.

THE ENGINE RUNS FINE FOR 10 SECONDS THEN KIND OF DIES OUT BUT WILL THEN RUN FINE FOR 10 SECONDS AND THEN DIE OUT

Try replacing the in-line fuel filter, the Air Filter and Spark Plugs. Also make sure that you are using the proper start up procedure. In many cases that means using the highest choke setting until the engine tries to start, then going to the next choke setting and so forth until you get to no choke. It is imperative that you let engine run for at least 5 minutes before use to warm up. This will ensure a longer life and consistent running.

Leaf blower will not achieve full RPM's

try removing the muffler and scraping out any carbon build up in the exhaust mouth of the block. if that doesnt help you will probably need to replace the carb.
