Dishes not getting clean

Hey Julia! I understand that your dishes are not coming out clean. There can be several things that you might want to try. First, make sure that your detergent is fresh. If not, try using a fresh detergent. Next thing I would try would be to make sure that everything is loaded correctly so nothing is blocking the spray arms inside, and preventing them from rotating. After that you can check to make sure that the water coming into the Dishwasher is hot enough. Try running the water into the sink until it becomes hot and then starting the dishwasher. If you're still having trouble after that, you might want to check and see if you have hard water. If you do, you'll want to make sure that you are filling the dispenser cup completely and if you have soft water you'll want to make sure that you use less detergent. The only other thing that I can think of that might cause the dishes to not be clean would be maybe the water pressure itself. If the pressure is good, you might need to reach out to a local service tech who can better pinpoint the problem for you. Best of luck!

Frigidair dishwasher model fphd2491kfo wont drain does every thing else

Good Afternoon Tyler, thank you for your question! Often when a dishwasher does not drain, it is because the drain hose may be clogged or you have a faulty drain pump. First, I recommend cleaning the glass trap that is located in the center of the unit designed to collect pieces of broken straws, bones, glass, etc. The filter can be removed for cleaning by simply grasping the handle and then lifting it out. However, if you continue to have water left in the sump and the dishwasher is making a grinding noise, then there is a possibility that the drain motor may need replacing after a proper diagnosis from an expert. You can locate a certified technician directly through the manufacturer website or in your local directory.

Dishwasher leaking from pump housing.

If it is not leaking around a shaft seal, you can disassemble it again and use permatex or silicon sealer on the mating surfaces

Hi Bill Walters - Generally speaking, the drain pump receives power directly from the main control board. If you have verified that the drain pump does not work then more than likely it is not getting power or the drain hose is restricted. If the drain hose is attached to an in-sink garbage disposer, please verify that the plug in disposer has been removed. If it proves to be ineffective, connect with a professional to accurately pinpoint any potentially more serious issues.
