Normal 0 Try disconnecting the Mouse Receiver from the USB port and reinstall the CD software program. When the program asks you to connect the Mouse Receiver to the USB port, do so and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud

SOURCE: G9 Laser Mouse Scrolling Problem

thx for helping dude, logitechexpert my ***... now check that...i was so pissed because of such stupid advice that i hit my mouse on the corner of my desk...yep i really did.  ...and then it worked! it SCROLLS!
my theory: the logitech has a quite complicated mechanical clockwork-like gear switch for their scrollwheel. they are so proud of it, that they even have pictures of it on the box when you buy a g9. well, i guess when you make things more complicated they arent that reliable anymore...like the gear switch at your bycicle which gets messed up sometimes, because its small mechanical parts just get stucked.  so my mechanical solution: turn your g9 around hold it and knock three times(not too soft: imagine the money you paid for this mouse and release your anger) just around the area where the mechanism is located...i had exactly the same problems like you and now it works perfectly! ...i guess i dont need to buy batteries.

Hello,

I have the same problem in Vista, I found a true and working solution apart of droping the mouse to the trash, ok, go to... http://www.a4tech.com/ go to the english version if you dont speak chinese, then find the driver for the mouse model ***-49Z, and there is the solution, GE isnt the builder of this mouse.

SOURCE: My Gigaware optical mouse's cursor won't move

I had the same problem, so I tried replacing the battery, and the problem persisted. Took the battery out again, put it back again, and repeated several times to no avail. Took the battery out again, rubbed the metal contacts in the battery compartment with my fingertip to remove any dirt, replaced the battery, and then the mouse started to work normally.

What is up with this mouse?? GE 98529, USB. It didn't come w/ a driver and I can't find on-line. Just a simple USB mouse.... Please help!

It shouldn't need a driver. It is a Plug and Play mouse. It might be bad, or the optical lens might need cleaned.

Have you tried it in another USB port?

Return it if you can and good luck!

I have a GE wireless mouse = 98563, bought about 2 weeks ago and have used it only a couple of times however recently i have developed problems with it, I bought a new pack of triple As and even then the...

1. Go to manufacturer's website and download the driver for the correct MODEL of the mouse.

2. Install mouse driver. Go "Control Panel" to configure mouse software.

3. o/s XP, right mouse click "My Computer" go Properties, Hardware tab, Device Manager, scroll down to "Mice and other Pointing Devices" to see if it is registered, and also check "USB Human Interface Device" in the same window to see if your usb connections are functioning. There should be NO YELLOW question marks in this window pertaining to USB and Mice Pointing Devices.

If it was a wired mouse with no name or model, you can just plug it into the ports and it will work. Unfortunately, since it is wireless, you MUST have the correct drivers(software that allows your computer to communicate with the device), and the only way you can get the correct drivers is through the manufacturer and choose the right model.

ALSO
The USB device has what appears to be a circle with dots connected to it facing the port. The dots are actually the word "Connect" in infintessimally small letters. Plug it in, then use your thumb to press down on the circle while using another finger to press up on the device's underside - in effect, squeeze it between your fingers where the circle is. You'll see a red light blink. At that point you can push the "connect" button on your mouse and it will work.

Fairly new mouse (new batteries also)not working. Solid blue light when plugged into USB port but cursor will not move at all when click mouse buttons or scroll bar. Rebooting system nor unplugging USB...

First make sure your mouse is installed properly. Go to Device Manager and see if it lists the mouse and has no conflicts. Also, try a different USB port, especially if it doesn't show up. If your receiver and mouse have reset or connect buttons on them you'll need to push those also. try alternate batteries. if none of these suggestions can solve your problem you may be looking at a defective mouse.

Hi, I bought the new wireless optical mouse of ge.  I lost my owner's manual and don't know if I have all the parts.  Do I just need the mouse and my apple macbook pro to make it work.  can you tell me how...

The GE mouse came with a Receiver that goes into a USB port after the CD software program is installed. During installation the program will ask you to plug in the receiver into a USB port. This is when to do so. Then it should work properly.
