PAL, NTSC Help! I live in U.S. and accidentally clicked the PAL switch on the TV set-up and now it doesn't talk to the TV so I can't see anything to find my way back to this screen and click the NTSC back on. I've tried to 'blindly' click through the correct sequence with the remote control to no avail. Any suggestions how I can make this usable again? Thanks, Ron

The model is a Mintek DVA-8700. It does not have a default settings. Yes, we have manuals for the TV and DVD player.

Hi,

If all else fails, you can use a Univeral digtal PAL to NTSC / NTSC to PAL convertor. Could you please tell me where you have switched the system to PAL...on your TV or DVA unit? If it's on your TV could you please tell me the model number of your TV.

Please help

Have you try: NTSC on PAL TV On • NTSC discs will play correctly on PAL-only TVs.
Off Use if your TV is already NTSC-compatible.

Many recent PAL TVs are compatible with NTSC input and so this setting can be switched off. Check the operating
instructions that came with your TV. See also About NTSC on PAL TV on page 124 for related information.

Help! I live in CANADA and accidentally clicked the PAL switch on with my remote control the home theater system model DVA - 8700 set-up and now I can here the sound but I can't see anything to find my way...

Hi,

Pls try doing a reset by unplugging the unit from the mains for a couple of hours (preferably overnight).

Alternately, you can try hooking it up to a video monitor (capable of RCA/Composite or S-video), a movie camera (switch to external video source), or another TV that is PAL/NTSC capable while configuring it back to NTSC settings.

Additionally, you can try simply pressing the NTSC/PAL button with a few seconds interval while playing a known good NTSC disc.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

NTSC to PAL

Hi,
I am afraid this reply is too late, but if you happen to stop by the site: The set has a built-in NTSC tuner, with no PAL tuner, as it is advertised in the US. So the answer is: No, you can't do PAL.

But if your manual says it has the PAL tuner, then you should be able to find a switch on the set or a button on the remote to change over to PAL.
