How can i stop the squelch ive tryed turning the sqcuelch doesnt help

Plug the AC adapter into the back of the scanner and into a wall electrical outlet. Screw the antenna into the receptacle on the back of the scanner (extend the antenna to full length for best reception).

  • 2 Set the squelch level to allow signals to be heard by turning the squelch knob counterclockwise. Rotate the volume knob clockwise until you hear static. Slowly turn the squelch knob clockwise until the static noise disappears.
  • 3 Start programming frequencies into the scanner by pressing the "Manual" button.
  • 4 Press the up arrow or down arrow key until the channel you wish to program is visible on the display.
  • 5 Use the numbers on the keypad to enter the frequency for the local transmitter you wish to receive.
  • 6 Press the "E" key to complete the process of entering the frequency.
  • 7 Repeat steps 3 through 6 for each additional frequency you wish to monitor.
  • 8 Press the "Scan" key to start the scanning process. The scanner stops on a channel when it detects a signal strong enough to hear over the squelch setting. Two seconds after the signal stops, the scanning process resumes.

How to porgram bc140police scanning radio

First, you'll need a list of frequencies to program into the scanner. The BC140 memory is limited to just ten channels, so you'll need to select your coverage carefully. For a detailed database of active frequencies in your area, visit:
    www.RadioReference.com

Once you have your frequency list:
    - Power the scanner ON.
    - Press the Manual key to stop scanning.
    - Select the channel to program (1 through 10) by either entering it on the keyboard and then pressing Manual again, or by repeatedly pressing the Manual key to advance through the channels.
    - Enter the frequency, including the decimal point (e.g., 156.055).
    - Press Enter (E) to save the frequency in the scanner's memory.
    - Press Manual to advance to the next channel and enter your next frequency.

When you finish programming, press the Scan key to start scanning.

If you enter an out of band frequency, one that is not covered by the scanner, the display will show E for error.

I cannot figure out how to program my scanner to the fire frequency.

To program any known frequency into your BC72XLT, power the scanner ON, and then:

    1. Press Hold. Then enter the channel number where you want to store a frequency, then press Func and Pgm. The channel number appears.
    2. Use the number keys and to enter the frequency (including the decimal point) you want to store.
    3. Press E to store the frequency into the channel.

    Notes:
    • If you entered an invalid frequency in Step 2, Error appears and the scanner beeps three times. Enter a valid frequency.
    • The scanner automatically rounds the entered number to the nearest valid frequency. For example, if you enter 151.473 (MHz), your scanner accepts it as 151.475.
    • When you enter a frequency into a channel, the scanner automatically turns on the delay function and DLY appears. When delay is turned on, the scanner automatically pauses scanning 2 seconds after the end of a transmission before scanning proceeds to the next channel. To turn the function off or on, press Func + Dly.
    • If you enter a frequency that has already been entered elsewhere, the scanner sounds an error tone and displays the channel that was duplicated. If you entered the frequency by mistake, press then enter the correct frequency. To enter the frequency anyway, press E to
    accept.

    4. To program the next channel in sequence, press E then repeat Steps 2 and 3.
