Tip

Battery problem's it just need a reset, yes batteries have a "Brain" too.

So, lately your laptop battery has been giving you a less than stellar performance. As a matter of fact, the battery life has been downright poor. You give it hours to charge, and you barely get ninety minutes of battery life from it. If your battery is less than two years old, then you may be able to do something about it. Something, that is, besides going to the electronics store and shelling out your hard earned cash to buy a brand new battery. That choice is to try and reset your battery. It may not be a silver bullet, but it can help you to extend your battery's active life. There are two ways to reset your battery. Like many other things in this world there is an easy way to do this and a hard way to do this. We will begin with the easy way, which does not require a download, and then move on to the hard way.
The Easy Way Before we begin look at your battery and the casing directly surrounding it. If you see an inset button labeled “Reset” (like the ASUS A6403KM), and you are sure it is for the battery only, then you can use the method with a reset. If not, then use the directions without a reset.
Without The Reset
If your laptop battery does not have a reset button, then follow these steps:
1. Turn off all of your power saver settings on your laptop. This includes your sleep mode and any auto shut offs.
2. Use your laptop, do whatever you have to do, and run the battery down. Ignore any low battery messages.
3. Your laptop is going to die, so be sure that if you are doing anything mission critical save your work.
4. Plug it in and let it get a full charge without turning it on. Not even once. Not even to check your email really quickly.
With The Reset
If you have a reset button then try these steps:
1. Interrupt the battery recharge from step four above after about 1 hour.
2. Hold your power and reset button simultaneously for about a minute, your lights should flash.
3. Turn off the device as normal and finish the charge.
The Hard Way The hard way is to get and run a piece of power manager software that will manage your battery reset. This is intended for those who repair and restore laptop batteries, or at least folks that can open their laptop battery's housing and identify and remove the "smart chip" inside.
Battery EEPROM Works 1.2
Please be aware that this software is designed to be run by a technician. If you are not one, then be very careful to follow the directions carefully.

Dell d340. need to enter admin password in bios to reorder boot sequence to accept usb first - its locked and i cant remember password. tried removing cmos battery and replacing but no good. help!

Try the backdoor password Dell

With a PSWD Reset Jumper Step 1Open the access panel to the password reset jumper if your Dell laptop has one. Consult your manual for the access panel's location. Some access panels have a tab you slide, while others are held in place with a screw.
Step 2Pry the plastic cover off the reset jumper with your fingernail. The reset jumper is a small pin port labeled "PSWD" with three pins. Put the plastic back onto the jumper over pin 1 and 2 instead of 2 and 3. Wait 90 seconds.
Step 3Pry the plastic off the reset jumper again and place it back onto the number 2 and 3 pins. Turn the laptop on. Repeat step 2 if the password is still present. Leave the plastic clip on pins 1 and 2 for a longer duration than last time.

Without a PSWD Reset Jumper Step 1Locate the reserve battery, also known as the CMOS battery, if your Dell laptop is not equipped with a password reset jumper. The CMOS battery's location varies among Dell laptop models. Consult your manual for the battery's location on your specific Dell laptop model. Many Dell reserve batteries are located underneath the main laptop battery. Remove the main battery and look for a sticker under it with instructions on removing the secondary CMOS battery.
Step 2Remove your Dell's reserve battery per the instruction manual or sticker located under the main battery. Removing the reserve battery resets the laptop's BIOS password. Wait 90 seconds, then replace the reserve battery. Reconnect the main battery.
Step 3Press the "Power" button to turn the laptop on.

Can you fix my low on memory palm centro. It erased all of my photos and won't take new ones. It says momory is too low. Can you fix?

hi,
you have to reset your phone in order to fix that..but you have to save all your important data before you do the reset...here is how..

Performing a soft reset is similar to restarting a computer. If your Centro device is not responding or you're having trouble synchronizing with your computer, a soft reset may
help. All your information is retained when you perform a soft reset.

1. Remove the battery from your device, and then reinsert it.

Note: The reset begins when you insert the battery and ends when the
Date & Time Preferences screen appears.

2. Select Done.

Replacing the Battery

Your Centro device comes with a replaceable battery. Be sure to use a battery that is approved by Sprint and that is compatible with your device. Failure to use the proper
battery may result in personal injury or product damage, and it voids your device warranty.
1. Press Power/End palm_centro_hard_reset_soft_reset_2.jpg to turn off the screen.
2. Gently press down on the Battery Door, and then slide the door downward to remove it from your device.
3. Place a finger in the notch next to the battery and lift the battery up at a 45-degree angle to remove it from the compartment.
4. Align the metal contacts on the new battery with the contacts inside the battery compartment.

palm_centro_hard_reset_soft_reset_1.jpg
5. Insert the new battery into the compartment at a 45-degree angle, pressing it into place. Slide the battery door onto the back of the device until it clicks into place.
6. Connect your device to the charger or sync cable.
7. Wait for your device to turn on, and then enable the network time or set the date and time when prompted.

System Reset

A system reset, also called a safe or warm reset, can be useful if your device loops or freezes during a soft reset. Performing a system reset allows you to get out of the loop and restores limited functionality to your device in order to uninstall a third-party application that's causing the problem. Note that after a system reset, you must perform a soft reset to restore full functionality, including the wireless features, to your device.

1. Remove the battery from your device.
2. Press and hold Up palm_centro_hard_reset_soft_reset_3.jpg on the 5-way palm_centro_hard_reset_soft_reset_4.jpg while reinserting the battery.
3. When Date & Time Preferences appears, release Up palm_centro_hard_reset_soft_reset_3.jpg
4. Delete the third-party application that you suspect is causing the problem.
5. Perform a soft reset. (The wireless features of your device are not available until you complete this step.)
ard Reset

A hard reset erases all information and third-party software on your Centro device. Never perform a hard reset without first trying a soft reset and a system reset. You can restore previously synchronized information the next time you synchronize.

A hard reset can tell you if a problem stems from your Centro device or from an application installed on it. If you do not experience the problem after you perform a hard reset, the problem is related to software you installed.

Important: If you set a password on your device, performing a hard reset reformats your device (the message "Reformatting in progress" is displayed). This is a more severe form of a hard reset, which removes all your information and restores your formats, preferences, and other settings to the factory default settings.

Note: Some third-party applications do not create a backup on your computer when you synchronize. If you perform a hard reset, you may lose data in these applications and you need to reinstall these applications after the hard reset. Please contact the developer to find out which information is backed up during synchronization.

i hope it will help you..thanks for trusting fixya

Battery change and then reset

If you open already the watch, and you want to take the old battery, there is a clip that's lock the battery twist that lock.then the battery comes out and replaced with a new one. If you have already put the battery and no display you must reset it by shorting battery connection,in the plate there is arrow guide to the hole where you put your tweezers to short the connection.then the display appears 8888,that is already resetted take the tweezers..

Reset buttom

Try doing a cold reset ( no data loss) disable the battery by sliding out and then back in, the battery pin at the back base of the phone without removing the battery PLS do not remove the battery!!!!.

If that dosen't work then you may need to remove the battery and do a default reset (you loose your phone settings) you should back up your data first before trying this.

Black screen

If one of these solutions doesnt work you will most likely need to purchase a new calculator.

Batteries:
Make sure to replace the "battery backup" too the little lithium ion battery

Try Adjusting contrast:
Hold down "[2nd]" key press up or down arrow repeatedly to lighten or darken contrast.

First attempt reseting:
Step 1: Remove all the batteries
Step 2: Hold "Clear" key down
Step 3: Still holding "Clear" key reinstall batteries
Step 4: Still holding "Clear" key press "On" key until home screen is displayed.

Second shot reseting:
remove all batteries including lithium ion (backup battery), wait 3 hours and reinstall batteries.

Third Shot reseting:
Step 1: Remove a battery
Step 2: Hold down "DEL" key reinstall battery
Step 3: Possible msg pops up saying "Waiting ... Please install software" IGNORE msg and take out battery again
Step 4: Reinstall battery do not hold down "DEL" key

reseting will cause the handheld to loose all of its stored memory.

Hope that helps!

Triax CV10

Nike Triax CV10 - Successful HRM reset 7 November 2008

I had real problems too. Even after repeatedly following the known reset steps everyone else is posting up. Here’s how I got mine going, please forgive the mind bogglingly tedious detail…

First make sure you’re using new good quality batteries. I used Maxell’s, bought in 10’s from Hong Kong on ebay – no problem.

Second, and this is the ESSENTIAL bit…move right away from the computer and any other electromagnetic sources before carrying out the known reset…

Third, follow the known reset steps below, adjusted to what worked for me…

If you press all four buttons of your Nike HRM it will reset. Next time you go to "RUN" mode, it will show "HRM LINK" error. You will now need to "hard reset" the unit.

Nike made a late change to add a "hard reset" to the chest strap. To re-link (re-initialise) the watch you'll need to open the battery door on the chest strap, and use a paper clip (or the equivalent) to push the small gold button in the battery area. There should be a small sticker in the battery compartment that points to the reset button.

The re-initialisation steps for the Nike C10 and CV10 digital HRM's is:

(1) reset the watch
(2) open the battery door on the chest strap
(3) move the watch to RUN mode
(4) press the reset button in the chest strap battery area without removing the battery

Tip - I agree with the suggestion to use a pin or needle and definitely do it with the battery in the hrm.
Tip – Thumb holds battery to stop it from pinging out, other hand performs jiggle with pin until the link is made (it links straightaway if you jiggle it just right!)

(5) replace chest strap battery cover…and smile!
