Question about Sewing Machines
I cannot get the stitches consistent and the upper thread keeps breaking. Please help. I tried cleaning, replacing the needle, different thread, checking tension, etc. My machine is Quiter'sStar ETS Model 1780.
Are there any needle puncture marks on the plate. Could have burrs on the hook tip, but you would have to take it to a tech for sanding.

Take a few stitches and look for where the thread is hanging as the loop slides over the bobbin case. If there is a rough spot causing it to hang, smooth it out with very fine steel wool make certain to remove all remains of the steel wool when you are finished. If the thread is catching between the bobbin case and some other surface, the clearance between the surfaces needs to be set and you should take it to a qualified repairman.

Mmmm...., maybe NOT the solution, maybe, just a key.
I have a copy of theBaby LKock EA-605 instruction booklet in English, Germann, French and Spanish. NO ideas how it casme into my orbit, but happy to pass it on.

I have this same machine and it does this sometimes, too. I've found it's usually due to a couple of things: 1. The thread is caught on the spool in the little **** that holds the initial starter piece. If you turn the spool around with the **** on the side away from the bobbin maker, that usually does it. 2. The needle is not in with the thread going from front to back (it may be in with the thread going from side to side). 3. The thread is bad. (I had one spool that actually had "lumps" in it!
Hope this helps - good luck.
